Paying the monthly bill still shocks us. Fortunately, it will get cheaper (our youngest is in the infant room which costs more than the other classes). Thankfully, my wife and I both feel we're getting a lot more than we pay for, as ridiculous as that sounds.

<<But my point was: if you could afford 20K in child care, now that the kids are older a 6K WDW trip is a bargain by comparison.>>

True. Planning a few years ahead we've considering sending our son to catholic school or a private school near Princeton. Before we put our son in daycare the tuition to the private school seemed like alot, now we're thinking what the heck are we going to do with all the extra cash when they leave daycare.

Catholic grade schools here are $7K - $9K and High Schools $8K - $10K per kid per year here. Not counting the voluntary ( mandated ) contribution items like chocolate sales - dinners - etc
There is a slight break for mulitple kids, but 3 kids at once in Chatloic schools equaled bill of an average $19K per year -- more as they got older.

Wow. We have been told that the "total" cost is about 4 per kid. The Parish subsidizes it down to 3K (there is a small endowment). Denver area High Schools are charging 5-6K. When we lived in San Diego the local Parochial was about 2K as well.

Anyway, I'll stay away from the Chicago area. It sounds brutally expensive.

Well let's make ticket prices $1000 per day per person -- that'll fix it....and then those who can still afford to go will complain it ain't worth $1000 per day.
