    Oh, and anyone who hasnt' yet read Catch-22 and Slaughterhouse-Five - I highly encourage you to read them ASAP!!!! Two of my all-time favorite books!

    My senior AP English teacher read that to us first day of our senior year. Mrs. Morris was a GREAT teacher. I need to look her up one of these days.

    But that's 3 whole books, and about half or less of 2 ("Grapes of Wrath" and "1984"...just couldn't force myself through 'em, though expected to in H.S.)

    And I was an English major too. And I love to read. I think that's the thing---I spent my time reading books that were better than most of these (i.e., *all* of "The Chronicles of Narnia", not just "Lion, Witch, Wardrobe")

    It looks like I've read 23 of the titles. Around 8 of the titles are ones that didn't pass the "50 page test" for me and were subsequently chucked. About three of the titles are on my "to read" list so I intend to get to 'em eventually.
