The problem is that it is very difficult to try and discuss something with you when every time it happens you go off the deep end because I don't go along with whatever it is you happen to be saying, and I say it in a clear and strong manner.

Then you flip out, start in with the name calling and so on. Then your buddy Bob chimes in, almost on cue, to add his one or two lines about how awful a person I am.

Well, the fact is I'm not an awful person, I like this stuff, and I want to discuss it. There are many people here I actually can discuss this stuff with who don't manage to fall to pieces because I didn't say the exact right words to them.

I don't mean to brag, but I think I have a lot to offer in a discussion on these things. I have read a lot about it, and have followed it for years. I've friends who have worked at the corporation and people I have worked with work there now in the animation area, although really I don't keep in touch at all with them.

You need to drop the animosity. If you can do that, I'll respond and we can have a discussion. If we do have a discussion, you will need to understand that I may say things that you won't like, or that I express myself in a blunt manner at times.

Now if you can deal with that, I will try to respond to your comments, but if not, then you need to simply avoid talking to me if you can't deal with my personality. I don't want to get you or anyone else angry, but you have to have some ownership of that yourself.

I know I sometimes appear less than polite. This comes out of frustation and a lack of patience, and it is an issue I have to deal with. It does not help when you make things even more antagonistic.

I am not here to cause you grief. I have no reason to. If you would simply behave in a polite manner, I will try to as well. It shouldn't be hard.

I ONLY get mean when provoked, and you are very provoking. So I would say back to you a few things that you just said to me, and maybe we'll make some inroads into getting along like the adults we both are -

If we can both agree to the above 3 points, maybe we have a chance.

There are some plans for the future to add a large attraction that would use up the South/western corner of the pier

This is not my problem, it is yours. You need to take ownership of this issue and deal with it internally. It's not up to me. I am not in a position to take care of every individual's neurotic problems.

And I have read through the threads and statements off topic.
I tuned into this discussion to find out about the CAD updates.
Golden Dreams is still there (is it leaving?)
Maliboomer is still there (and is it going?)
Monsters will reopen in February (I was told)
Snow White 70th tribute will be up until April
    Toy Story opens when?
What other concrete plans am I missing?

    (and get back on topic):
Golden dreams and Maliboomer leave in '09, Monsters Inc. reopens in Feb (the 15th I believe), don't know about Snow White, Toy Story early June w/ soft openings maybe in April/May. As far as other concrete plans go construction time tables keep getting pushed back and no one seems to know - still hoping for WOC premiere in 09. Bean can feel free to correct/expand on my comments.

And to anyone else on this thread, really, this is the last time, I promise. If there was a private message function, I'd make use of it. Since there isn't, this is the only way I can respond to jon's silliness. I apologize for the repeated thread drift - it won't happen again, at least on this thread.

Yes, The Little Mermaid is going there. It will be the new ride that opens during the tenth aniversary celebration.

Yes. Nothing at this time is taking its place. Expect landscaping areas until more is budgeted for an E ticket later in the next decade for that and the other helix.

Those seem like pretty small areas for "E-Tickets", but I would love to be proven wrong by a couple of innovative and unexpected attractions.

What ever they put inside the helix will have to look decent from all angles, just because of how the area is seen from the ride, but if they build on the other side, it would be easy enough to have a very lightly themed building and call it a day (like the generic curves to the roofline of TSM).

I'm starting to get a suspicious feeling that nothing is going to happen, or at best, it all will be much less than what was previewed last year. I guess I'll believe it all when I see them move in a big crane and begin dismantling the Maliboomer. But where are the walls? Is Toy Story Mania, which was already in the works and isn't part of what was announced for the future, the only progress we are going to see in all of 2008??

the west helix (where maliboomer is) could easily have a show building behind the coaster connected to whatever is built within the helix. Its just a matter of removing some of the coasters lattice work added for theming.

The east helix is a bit diferent since the last portion of the screamin trackis quite low and blocks access to the backstage area.

It's going to take close to a year and a half to get the pier done. Don't expect to walk down a totally redone Paradise Pier till spring 2010. That'll be about two years from now. And even then, all of it won't be done. Everything should be done in the pier by then except for The Little Mermaid ride which should be deep in construction for an early 11 premiere. Just think of the park as wall-land for the next four years, cause that's what it will be.

your right about this. eventually when the rest of timon is closed there would be no need for the four lane exit in that corner of the property.

If the old entrance and tollbooths are kept then only one or two lanes would be used to guide cars along the southside of the property and then out to Disneyland drive and north to the parking structure.

The most logical thing would be to eventually eliminate the entrance from harbor and have people go around the property to the parking structure.
It would basically be for peole that exit off the harbor ramp that missed the Disneyland drive ramp that leads directly to the structure.

people coming north on the 5fwy should exit directly into disney way which would then give them the option to turn right on menchester and to ball or go into the proposed parking structure in the corner of clementine and Disney way.

There is plenty of signs everywhere along these exits that right now lead people to the main parking places. Its just a matter of getting people in the habit to forget about the old entrance and the only way for that to happen is to eliminate it.

Once that is done the expansion area for DCA would grow evenmore including the area behind the west helix.

Now there's an idea. Change the name of the Hollywood Backlot area to Hollywoodland.

And think that this could work, but kind of more like terrets towards the top instead of a victorian look. Could you say if i am kinda getting warmer for the disneyland hotel?
