They're expecting it to sell out in mere moments on Tuesday, despite the increase in size. On the bright side, this may mean the the Half will fill up a little more slowly than in the past, since all of the crazies (myself included) are doing Dumbo. Then again, the frenzy could just make the whole thing that much worse.

If there's anybody out there interested in registering for Dumbo who hasn't already, I have a link that you can use that's live right now. My email is my LP username at-yahoo-dot-com, and I'll try to send it back to you as quickly as possible!

Anybody get stuck in the horrible parking situation leaving?

After running the DL 1/2 in 2011, I made the mistake of trying to drive back the my hotel (Super 8 on Katella, next to Garden Walk). Between the delays getting out of the parking structure (which weren't too terrible, since we were getting directed onto Walnut) and having to take all sorts of crazy routes due to road closures (I went as far north as Lincoln Blvd and as far south as The Block in Orange), it took me about 2 hours. Needless to say, that was not a pleasant experience after my first race that long, and with a very full bladder! Despite them selling out so quickly, there are some serious logistical issues with the DLR races that they seem to have trouble with every time

Guess the price increase didn't phase anyone. Get ready for a $200 price tag next year.

<---Hoping Tink doesn't increase in price, but not betting on it.

But I think the real winner is the 5K medallion. Making it look like a pocket watch is really clever, and it's just a generally fun design. Here's hoping that the courses are done in a way that I can actually run both the 5K and 10K, since registration closed long before course maps were posted (still not up)

They told people after they shouldn't sign up for both. I'm sure if you run an average 5k, it shouldn't be an issue getting to the 10k, but since it's the first time, who knows what the logistics will be. Have you heard when they are releasing the course maps. I'm curious about the 10k.

I think they usually release finalized maps about 6-8 weeks before the races, but I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing details before then

Through the text descriptions, both races are designated as being in DLR. I assume this also means the immediately adjacent streets (Harbor, Katella, Ball, DL Drive) because of the length of the courses. However, given that both races will be run simultaneously (the last 5Kers will start about 20-30 minutes before the 10K, and have 60+ minutes to finish), they will essentially need 2 unique courses to allow for the crowds to finish without trampling each other (though I wouldn't be surprised if they shared start and/or finish lines). But given that length of course (9.3mi), I think they are going to have a very tough time finding a path that works. While I haven't heard anything even remotely official, I suspect that the time of the races will likely be adjusted to allow them to clear the course between races (or run the 10K first and clear half of the course)

The medals do look great !!!

Training is off to a slow start but I'm kicking it in gear and off for a long run tomorrow.

I'm a little worried about how quick Tink will sell out due to the "pink" C2C medal they are offering. And they are allowing a "number" of early Tink reg. when they open up Princess reg. I'm glad I did Princess this year but NO desire to do it again. I also have to say I still like the blue C2C better than the pink one.

Also, the DL1/2 10K follows a course that's nearly identical to the in-park/DTD portion of Tink, so it might be odd to use that same course 2 days in a row, when many runners will be doing both races (though that doesn't stop them from keeping the similarities between the WDW Marathon and Half)

If they do add a 10K, expect the 5K to be moved to Friday (assuming it's in the morning). The 10K for the Labor Day races is the same day as the 5K, starting 45 minutes later; it seems like they were in too big of a rush to announce the new race to think through the logistics, since it appears that the 5K and 10K will need to share the same course, and won't be cleared between races

Also, I have a feeling that Tink reg. will fill up very quickly.

Presumably if they were to add a 10K for Tink, they would do some sort of 10K + Half challenge, but there was no sign of it. Given that in the past Disney has made it very clear that registering for the challenge races separately does not make you eligable for the challenge medal, I doubt we'll see a Tink 10K this year

Then again, it seems like runDisney has announced a lot of things in the past 12 months that it didn't really think through all the way, so this could just be another prime example of that. I guess we'll need to wait and see

I have to agree with you that it's going to be a wait and see. I did hear that Chase card members were going to be able to reg. early...I'm waiting for my email for that.
I'm getting a little tired of all the rumors etc...I just want the facts :)

But with registration opening soon-ish, you'd think they might go ahead and announce it if they're doing it
