Pretty crummy for people who need to plan their travel around a race that may or may not happen Then again, royally screwing up is right in Active's wheelhouse, so it's entirely possible that they're at fault

I guess we just have to keep our eyes out for any news.

I would think they would keep tink as is this year figure out the issues with Dumbo/Dopey/Princess before adding yet another challenge without one being run yet (esp with DLR running the 5k/10k at approx the same time) Ive decided that I wont do DLR in 2014 but plan to do the WDW 10K/Tink/Princess in 2015 since I can't pull off 2 DLR trips so close (and couldnt see running 2 halfs and a 10K in a week- since I'm doing both the 1/2 and 10K in Jan) that and Ive already given RunDisney a good grand for 3 (well 6) races.. -em

This means more park tickets, food and beverage, and hotel sales for Disney (and the surrounding area), so they'll make more money on the event

Originally Posted By FerretAfros I'm also in Corral A, but I'm not entirely convinced that I'll make it up there for the 10K start. I'm doing the 5K as well, and should have about 15-20 minutes to get through the finish area and over to the start line before the 10K officially begins, but I know that anything can happen and it will likely be a flustercluck in that area My training has been okay, but not great. I've been able to get in several decend speedwork days, but I've had a lot of trouble getting the long runs in. Between the heat and summer plans, my longest run so far was only 9.5mi, and my overall record has been pretty spotty. I'm hoping that I can turn things around and really focus in the next month

I know it's just a few more weeks, but I've less motivation :O I gotta stick it out a few more weeks!

It seems as though there could be some overlap.<< This will definitely happen. Disney is notoriously generous with the pace for the 5Ks, so there will be plenty of people who take more than 60 minutes to finish (especially when you stop for character photos along the way). Assuming that the 5K start is complete in 20 minutes (optimistic) that gives the slowest 5Kers a 25 minute head start on the fastest 10Kers, which would put them meeting up near Condor Flats (mile 1.5/mile 3) Given that the 5K course and 10K course merge and split several times (near Mermaid, Buena Vista St, hub), my guess is that the 10K start will be delayed until they can clear the last 'split' point at the hub. It would work out nicely for me, but sure would be a pain for everybody else Also, I'm not sure how they'll do the corral setups, since they'll both use the same holding area. The 5K doesn't appear to have corrals (yet another mistake, IMO), but will require lining up in the space designated for the 10K corrals, meaning 10Kers can't get in their spots until the 5K has fully begun Or maybe it will all work perfectly and I'm completely overthinking it.
