I haven't heard anything to indicate either way about whether or not they also do this for the 10K+Half combinations
Originally Posted By sunNrainfall I was A/B, too 10k/half. I could see them adjusting for the Goofy/Dopey because it's a lot more miles. I don't remember when I ran Goofy in 2009. Ferret>seems like we run about the same times, do you follow any of the major training schedules?

I spent most of July on vacation without the ability (or real desire) to run, so I basically did an accelerated schedule for August to try and get the mileage in. I got up to about 20 miles total for a week and then 'tapered' the week leading into the races, and had to make due with that In general, I try to loosely base my training on Jeff Galloway's plans. I do run/walk intervals (which seems pretty rare at my pace), so it makes sense to try and listen to his mileage recommendations. My only big disagreement with him is doing the 26 mile training runs for Dopey and Goofy; the longest training run I've ever done for my 11 marathons is 18mi, and I only did that once

Oh well, I'll keep trying!

I wonder if Star Wars will be more like Avengers.

I know that they officially don't change corral assignments at expos any more, but I may have to see if I can get moved up; worst case scenario, I'm no worse off for trying And in a slightly terrifying turn of events, my bib for the 5K is #39. That's low double digits! I feel like that's an unreasonably high expectation to put on me! I'll be running with a friend and following her pace, so I'm quite certain that I won't be anywhere near the 39th person to finish

I stayed toward the front of the corral and had a clear path within moments. We caught up with the ladies pretty quickly, but they had already spread out by then. I was just hoping to get a photo or two with some characters, but that seems unlikely now since there will be so many people ahead of me. This is somewhat of a goal race for me (my former proof of time is "expiring") so I won't want to wait in any long lines
Originally Posted By sunNrainfall Yeah, they fixed the Tink after the first race. I know a lot of people were complaining. Tink spreads out really fast, but there's a lot less runners. Good for times! I just hope it stays cool for the race in May now.

I don't think I've ever been at a race with this many runners wearing costumes. So much fun!
Originally Posted By FerretAfros I wasn't a huge fan of the course, but that may have been because of the wind. Even though the non-park scenery was better than DL1/2, there was so little time in the parks that the balance just didn't seem right to me And the wind! I don't think I've ever run in something so windy before! The middle half (or more) of the race was into a headwind, and the dust was flying everywhere. It was funny to see how dirty everybody was, from it sticking to your sweat. Last night I had to run to catch a connecting flight (which I ended up missing) and spent the next 20 minutes coughing because of all the crap in my lungs from the race. But somehow the volunteers seemed to manage just fine with it; they were definitely fighting an uphill battle on that one!
Originally Posted By sunNrainfall I've never run in wind like that either and I've run in the Santa Anas plenty. It seemed like no matter which direction we turned, it was still into the wind. I had pebbles, dirt, and leaves in my hair. I found some flower/leaves in my shirt, too! Dirt in my ears, too. My eyes felt all sandy, too. I saw a table at Angel Stadium flip over with all the cups of water, and the cups went flying across the parking lot. Yeah, the volunteers were awesome for staying out there, at least we were moving, they had to stay in one spot and deal with everything.

I didn't see the table, but there were a bunch of volunteers chasing cups down in the parking lot, and one was carrying the boards that they use to build layers on the tables. That was the same area where they had the plastic tape strung up to mark the course, and it was making so much noise in the wind that I was pretty sure it was going to snap

For Dopey, you'll get 2 bibs: one for the 5K and 10K and one for the full and half, each of which will have a corral marked on it. Since the 5K and 10K are smaller races and have fewer corrals, you'll be in a different corral for those races (unless you're in A for everything), but still based on the time you submitted. It seems complicated (especially when you consider how many different sets of bibs need to be coordinated for each corral), but it works surprisingly well once you're there and see everything in person Is this your first time doing one of the WDW races?

I don't remember if I used a half or full time, but it would have either been 4:24-full or 1:54-half. It just seems like I should have been in a higher corral. But I'm not trying to PR and am hanging back with a friend who's slower. I was just surprised. :/ Since you have experience (I'll take advantage of your knowledge ). I'll be driving from a mile away to get to the race start. Realistically, what time do you think we need to arrive at the Epcot parking lot? You said the 5k and 10k corrals are on the bib for those 2 races, too....right? (I might have more questions, when I start reading up more )
