I would say you probably want to be parked no later than an hour before the race starts; that's when they start making announcements for the first corrals to walk to the start. I'm not sure where cars get parked, but it's a relatively long walk from the bus drop-off to the staging area, and about a mile (~20 minute walk) from the staging area to the corrals. That would give you time to check a gear bag (if needed) and make a port-a-potty stop (there's always a huge line for the ones in the staging area, but there are also a bunch near the corrals that usually have a shorter wait. There's also some 'secret' ones that never have a wait, but for my own selfish reasons I don't want to post them on a searchable site like this; if you email me at my LP username@yahoo.com, I'll let you in on the location!)

I've only stayed at on site hotels for WDW races, so I don't know how bad traffic will be coming from elsewhere, but expect delays especially for the full. Your best bet for all the races is to come up World Drive from the south, since Epcot Center Drive is closed and the diverted traffic can get backed up. I believe that the buses from the hotels are given some sort of priority to get to the parking lot, so that may cause additional delays

    >>You said the 5k and 10k corrals are on the bib for those 2 races, too....right?<<

Yes, the corral for those races will be on that bib. Since those races start in the Epcot parking lot, you probably don't need to be there as early (especially since they appear to have reconfigured the starting area, so you don't have to cross the race course to get to the corrals, which meant everybody had to be in their corral before the race started), but it never hurts to have a little extra time

I'm actually quite familiar with the Tink deferrals, since I just got invited to a wedding that weekend, and checked to see how it works. Basically, you pay a fee and will be registered for next year's event; it can't be transferred to a different race weekend or to a different runner. The price to do it increases at the end of March

The information is on the Registration tab, about a quarter of the way down the page:

My (foolish) hope is that they're saving more spaces for general registration, so that it will be less chaotic for the rest of us. But I realistically expect it to be just as crazy as all the other times

I'm also excited for the anniversary! The 6th edition of it was my first real race and I've done it yearly since then, so this is one of the first times that the race's anniversary will actually be somewhat meaningful to me

I heard they "saved" less Dumbo spots for the early reg - but who really knows. If I can't get get Dumbo, at least, I'm guaranteed a spot for the half, since I'm legacy-10 years! Yay! It doesn't seem like it's been that long and kinda makes me feel old. haha!

I think it would be a fun race to do some day, but I'm not rushing out to do it right away. I've been wanting to take another trip to Europe for a while so I could potentially make it work (though I'd prefer Berlin personally), but it's not a huge priority for me due to the cost

    >>Wonder if rD knew about the Berlin Marathon??<<

I would be shocked if they didn't. It's one of the biggest World Marathon Majors, and the where the world records are most frequently set due to the flat course and elite pacers. The corporate/parks folks may not have realized that it's the same weekend, but I can't imagine any race director worth his/her salt (particularly one so close to Berlin) who doesn't know that the race is held around that time every year. I would guess that the decision was ultimately made by a non-runner who doesn't completely understand the significance of that race

I agree with Ferret. I'd find it hard to believe any entity putting on races as large as Disney would NOT know about the Berlin Marathon, being one of the majors. On the whole, they cater to a different type of runner, so I doubt the conflict would affect participation in either group. There are a lot of big races on the same day around here, too. Not the caliber of Berlin, but none seem to be affected that much. RnR Phoenix and Tinker Bell were on the same day. RnR Vegas, and Avengers, I think Malibu was on that date, too.

What upcoming races does everyone have? I've got LA Marathon in a week and a half (I've really been slacking after Dopey/Star Wars-just one 20) and then Tinker Bell after that.

I encountered some people who were doing both races, since RnR Vegas is at night. I suppose doing 2 halfs in one day might not be too terrible (probably easier than doing 1 full), but that just doesn't sound like fun to me

I was supposed to run a marathon this coming Saturday, but I had to drop down to the 5K after blowing out my Achilles during Marathon Weekend & Star Wars. This will be my triumphant return to running, and the longest distance I've done since then. I've gotten close to 3mi in training and felt fine, but I figured there was no reason to push it

Oh no! That sounds awful about your achilles, but you made the right decision not to push it. You don't want to that thing to rupture. Ouch! I'd still take it easy though. Good luck! :)

FerretAfros--sorry to hear about your Achilles. Hope your run went well and your feeling ok.

I've struggled in my recovery and just yesterday I pulled my left hamstring tripping on a sidewalk. I'm taking today off and may defer my long run planned this weekend as well. I'm hoping this doesn't completely derail my runs at Tink.

I have a sprint triathlon next weekend and I can't seem to get interested in it. I might skip it anyway if my hammie is still in bad shape. The bike course is all hills.
