I assume that once Disney gets the Chihuahuas out of the way, thet will start pushing this one.

I've never liked ANY of the DisneyToon cheapquels, not even Lion King 1 1/2, and I'm telling you that this one is actually good. Remember, John Lasseter was heavily involved in "fixing" it.

There are two songs sung by the wonderful Loreena McKennitt as well. My review for the movie will be up next week. - kch PS: It is "Tinker Bell", not "Tinkerbell" ...
Originally Posted By Route66 I watched this on Blu-ray a few hours ago. First off I love the Lorrena McKennit stuff! That was in very good taste to involve her, she was perfect in her narration and music. It was a really well thought out "prequel" to the Tinkerbell we all grew up with. They did a great job weaving together a nice story line for the background of Tinkerbell. The story starts when she was born (fairy's evidently have no childhood) and shows you her first season of life. The story is very basic and easy to follow along for all ages, but it isn't mind numbing for the grown ups. They could have easily developed this story line into a feature length film. The picture for the Blu-ray was flawless, it was very bright and pretty, smooth as silk. The fairy dust effects were amazing, this film was so sharp it had a suprising 3-D feel. I think Disney has spent some time on this project and have made something very enjoyable. This is a quality direct to video release and a real dazzler on Blu-ray.

Originally Posted By EmmaJayne 'But really now ... have you EVER seen Tink be a b***h anywhere but in "Peter Pan"?' Sadly NO. and it always makes me mad.. just because she looks cute doesn't mean she has to act it.. I always really liked she wasn't a stereotypical pixie. Ahwell, I know I'm going to end up watching it anyway.

However,I totally agree with you, people seem to forget Tinkerbell plotted to murder Wendy, she wanted her snuffed out for good.. She was jealous little thing and i'm not so sure she's the greatest roll model for kids.. Kind of like Jack Sparrow.

Anyway, I just finished watching it and... well I have to say I liked it enough. I was very impressed with the voices so that made me warm to it early on and it looks beautiful. It didn't have the 'straight to DVD' feel I was expecting. It was cute, fluffy and I'm sure younger kids especially will love it. But I just do not like seeing Tink so adorable.. and right at the end she looked so happy to have please Wendy.. not exactly a perfect setup for the hostility we see later on! Certainly some of her sass was there but not quite enough to set her character up...maybe Peter Pan is set during her teens and she as b***hy and insecure as all high school kids?
