Otherwise, I don't think the view is worth the premium. I've loved the views when we've had them. A few times there were only view rooms remaining when getting an AP rate, and when we're getting a suite, it seems that most suites are view rooms even though there's no separation in price. I do have a grand view of the ocean from my house, so maybe I just don't need more when I'm on vacation, though.

Anyway I was just trying to say that if you decide to book a standard room that when you get there it does not hurt to ask, I've enjoyed staying in the theme park rooms but I don't think I would spend the extra money to book a view room not saying it is not worth it I just think the money can be used to better your vacation in another way. All this talk is making me want to book a room at DLH and do it right now

We also really enjoy having dinner at Hook's Pointe... it is one of our favorite Disney restaurants... including both DL and WDW.

You can use the DGCH entrance if you stay at any of the property hotels (heck, they never checked us so probably even if you aren't staying on site). I don't know about shorter, but there is no line and you end up right by GRR, rather than having to go through the main turnstyles and being a little farther from any rides.

We want GCH for location of Playhouse Disney (we have a little one in a wheelchair as well) but we want the Disney atmosphere because of the little one. Also...did you get the 4 for 6 and 3 for 5 deal on the Disney site? We always go that week because there are so few people (until Friday). I use a manual wheelchair and had a bear of a time last year when they were doing the remodel of the Mansion and rerouted everyone along the cobblestone. In 3 years of visits (alternation WDW and DL) we have only had 1 (one) DL host who was rude to us. That is pretty impressive to me! I have found they are amazingly accomodating! What has your experience been?

WOWOregon, I saw your post about the rates and decided to check them out. We have AP's so usually wait and hope that special rates will come out. I checked expedia and they have the 5 nights with 2 free. We had already booked regular 10% off AP rates at the Grand and with re booking through expedia we are now spending $1200 less for our room. I'm not kidding. The expedia rate is comparable to the special rates that are occasionally offered for AP's. If you stay at any of the 3 DLR hotels you can use the Grand entrance to CA Adventure. They may or may not ask to see your room key so have it handy. We find that in the morning hours we are always asked, later, not so much. Sometimes we like to go through the Grand for the Air Conditioning The walk is less crowded and your bags are checked just before the turnstile so only one line. There is a CM there that practically checks the fillings in your teeth so it's not always quicker White Water snacks in the Grand is a great place to stop for a quick meal or snack. Air conditioned inside and away from the crowds. Its just a few steps from the CA Adventure entrance and restrooms are right there too Think of DLH at the beginning of an outdoor mall, you have walking access straight through to Katella, although there is a "street" crossing near DLH it's just used for emergencies or golf cart type vehicles, it's not a cross walk type street.
