This is a little complicated so bear with me:

I have occasional bouts of insomnia, usually in the mornings. I'll wake up an hour or two before the alarm and lie there cursing the noise that woke me and the thickness or thinness of my blanket and how tired I'm going to be later in the day.

So...

Today is a good day because, when I woke up *way* too early, instead of stewing in bed and getting angry at myself for not being able to get back to sleep, I got up, did a little straightening around the apartment, and got some exercise. I'm not going to be any more or less tired later in the day, but for now I'm in a much better mood.

I survived an optometrist appointment. I knew exactly what I expected (stronger distance prescription, time for bifocals, no cataracts or other problems), and that was exactly what I got, so I don't know why it's such a big deal, but I feel so great having it behind me.
