The most HILARIOUS aspect to those dancers was running towards the entrance ... AND GUESS WHAT ... there was nothing to run to!!!!!!!!! :O) Circle-Vision 360:"America The Beautiful" didn't open till November .. and Flight to the Moon in December. For the first two months of operation .. people walked up to these grand towering entrance pieces .. and you had a plain wall dead ahead, and a peek at the roof for Skyway as your "Grand Entrance" :O) hehehehehe TOO FRIKIN FUNNY. And as those dancers ran inward ... All they could say was .... "Here's to the future" ... because all Tomorrowland had at that time was the future to look forward to! As there was basically nothing! LOL Tomorrowland for every single "magic kingdom" park is ALWAYS the one land to suffer the most in the initial years. Only TDL's Tomorrowland was the most "complete" when it opened in 1983. >>Some of the scenes were a bit long (Grand Prix)<< That's because that promotional video shot in 1971 had only Grand Prix Raceway and Skyway as the total list of Tomorrowland attractions. If You Had Wings opened the next year - 1972 And "phase 2" of Tomorrowland was finished by late 1974 which included the opening of the following: Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress, Peoplemover, & Star Jets.

I got a lot of Martin's stuff on IRC a couple of years ago. That might still be the easier option for some. What's really amazing is that he hasn't been to WDW for quite some time. He certainly has a strong grasp of what makes that place special. I really can't see anyone denying that WDI is a shell of it's former self after watching this particular video. But hey, that's what is beautiful about opinions. I came away with two things after watch, one I am even more shocked at how faded eveything now is in TL. What stood out the most was the lift up to Astro Orbiter. While it looks different since the redo, it still is very muted. Second, TL'94 even with it's flaws, was a very good redo considering other Disney efforts. It's amazing how well Martin captured what made Timekeeper and Alien Encounter unique. More importantly unique to WDW domestically. They were certainly examples of WDI trying to do something different, offering something unique that wasn't a character retread. It's too bad they both weren't given a chance to be updated.
