I liked In N Out when we tried it in SF. There is a local place here called Shipwreck that has really good burgers. They have two I like. One is a blue cheese stuffed burger and the other is a BBQ cheddar burger with BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and bacon. Yummo!

Surprised how many mentioned places mentioned here we have been to, or have had long standing plans to go to. We tried to go to The Bucket (4541 Eagle Rock Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90041)for what is supposed to be a legendary burger, but we got there and they said it would be an hour wait. They only have a few seats (less than the Apple Pan) and we were starving so we had to go somewhere else. We keep meaning to stop at Pie N Burger in Pasadena. Supposedly excellent and has been there forever.
