    We have yellow chickens - its pretty sad though because they're "official" breed is 'meat chickens' - but we don't use them for that!

    yeah, meat chickens, as in they are the kind you would buy in the grocery store - but without the feathers! We don't eat our chickens though, they are all too much like pets.

    Can't eat 'em if you name 'em is our rule.

    No dear, they have feathers, they are kindof a yellowish orangey color. They call them meat chickens because they are specifically bred for their meatiness. They are BIG chickens and have lots of meat on their bones.
    Basically their only lot in life is to get big and meaty so they can be eaten by people.
    They are such a friendly breed of chicken though that we don't have the heart to eat them, we have made them all pets.

    -We have about 20 chickens total, all different breeds, only 3 of them are 'meat chickens'.


    Don't worry Miss Candice, I didn't know much about chickens until I started owning them!!
