Can you get more melodramatic? That statement makes no sense to me. How can you feel "empty inside" from just riding a simulator ride?

This was just not there with StormRider, for me at least. It was a fun attraction and everything, but I just didn't feel like anything all that amazing had happened on it. Even Aquatopia gave me more fulfillment, and there's nothing to really carry a story of any kind on that. It just seemed to be lacking something intangible that other rides all seem to have.

Shouldn't have had those extra helpings of sweet popcorn before going on the simulator ride.

Imagine Star Tours without being able to understand what Rex is saying. Just because you can't understand Japanese, you didn't get the storyline, and hence, felt "empty". Also, Star Tours has the benefit of being a massive, universal pop culture icon. EVERYONE knows that story. Stormrider was original. And despite what anyone says, I still think it's absoutely the best simulator attraction in the world. The best parts of Star Tours mixed with the only good parts of Armegeddon in Paris. It's a fantastic, expensive, unique attraction... and it's really like nothing else. If you look at it solely as a ride, beyond the nostalgia people feel for the Star Wars movies, it completely kicks Star Tours' butt.

All that said, it's STILL a simulator... but it's in-cabin effects and thrill factor makes it re-rideable much more then either Soarin (which is EXTREAMLY overrated in my opinion... with it's glaring blue uncovered Imax screen just freakin' sitting there when you walk in) or Star Tours (which is in need of a new anything).

Hello? You crash land straight down into the sea at the end of Stormrider... How much more dramatic do you get?? I see no difference between that and coming to a rough stop at the end of Star Tours.

I'll say it again, I like StormRider better than Star Tours, and I still feel it was more immersive than Soarin'. Soarin' was fun but it had no storyline and minimal effects. I was very impressed after riding StormRider (and keep in mind that I'm from California). Counting the overall experience, I must say that StormRider was more fulfilling than Soarin'

If there's any attraction that leaves you feeling empty, Soarin' would be a much better example than StormRider. The ride ends abrupty and is highly confusing when it cuts off the previous scene without notice. At least StormRider offers a pre-show to help explain the story (and fantastically done too), has a great storyline that fits perfectly with Port Discovery, and leaves you feeling breathless at the end. I didn't see one group leaving without an excited look on their faces.

I don't care what you say leemac, these are MY opinions and you should respect them. Sure you may find StormRider subpar when compared to Soarin' but some people don't. There's no set fact that Soarin'/Star Tours is better than StormRider and vice-versa. You saying that no self-respecting person would rank StormRider above Soarin would be like me saying that no person would rank DCA above TDS. See where I'm going with this? You can argue all you want, but there's no proof that Soarin' is better other than your own opinions. You can think it is better, but not everybody does. I'm pretty sure that the majority of people will share the same opinion as you, but that still does not make it fact. This is EXACTLY just like how the majority of people think TDS is the best second gate, yet that does not make it fact either. You can stand by your opinons, but (and I have learned from this) please do not criticize anyone's opinions any more. This only shows your inability to be proven wrong and that you cannot accept anyone's opinons unless they are agreeing with you. Thank you.
