In fact, fanbois can be some of the harshest critics. Star Wars fanbois, for example, may love the franchise but criticize the more recent series mercilessly. "Obsessive" might be the best word. Star Trek fanbois who can't be bothered to learn Spanish or French but learn how to speak Klingon would be another example.

It's basically used to elevate one's self above those silly simple people who like/dislike something Disney has done, or those who want/don't want Disney to take some action. It's a silly term, but it's almost always derogatory.
