Get there just before closing time, and you can watch the tigers playing ball in the water, they put on quite a show for us.

To people with a 6 Flags mentality, it's all about the rides. They couldn't care less about the "story" that goes with EE or any of the others, it's just the thrill they want.

I mean the highly themed audio-animatronic rides that the whole family can go on together. When most people think of theme parks they think of rides. Shows are a cheaper form of entertainment, and in my view they're a cop out for Disney. I want to see the next generation of dark rides with interactive audio-animatronics and new ride systems. These are the types that all ages can enjoy and not just teens. I don't mean to put down shows, I'm a fan and supporter of theater. I just believe that rides are the evolution of a traditional "show". High tech rides are where most people feel that they have received the best entertainment for their ticket price.

I don't like thrill rides but I don't mean to condemn them, everything has it's place. I don't think I'd like WDW so much if it was all any one thing, be it rides, parades, shows, restaurants, stores whatever. It needs variety. But well done variety is preferred.

One of the problems with entertainment is that it would be very expensive to extend certain things into the evening hours. Consider that things that might be performed on and off 10am-6pm can be done with a single 8-hour shift of performers. To offer such things into the evening hours would require another set of performers on the same day.

Good point. I'm fine with the shows having a limited performance time. But, I still think the park need more attraction capacity to make it a more lively park after dark. Like I said, just the theming of this park should make it jewel for late night entertainment.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't get more, just that it shouldn't be the focus.

They should get more attractions, experiences, shows etc ... reasons for people to visit and stay longer>>>

Your last sentence is what I was really getting at and I should have said attractions. I don't care if it's ride or shows or whatever. Just like you said , something to make me stay longer.

I wouldn't say that about something like Lights Motors Action or Fantasmic, they cost a fortune, and to me, LMA is as big an e-ticket as PotC, HM and Splash Mountain.

Absolutely, and this is why I give WDI such a hard time for all the toon based projects they are developing. HKDL's expansion is one of the most exciting announcements I have heard in at least 5 years. Why? Because they are building emersive attractions and areas that are not all toon based, but a mix of experiences. And that is wht made me fall in love with the Disney park experience. To be fair, I am at the point that when Disney is at it's best, you can have a great time in a park (and feel it's good value) without going on a single ride. But with all the chipping away they have been doing over the years (just look at Main Street and Liberty Square as good examples), it can make me grumpy.

But yes, on our 10 day trip in 2006, we spent 2.5 days at DAK and stepped foot in Epcot on 6 days (3 of those were for the full day)
