If you don't see any wires in <a href="http://www.nwhistorycourse.org/ttcourse/Year2/unit2/week9/images/Wires-Undgd1890-1910-800.jpg" target="_blank">http://www.nwhistorycourse.org...-800.jpg</a> , you too may have wire blindness.

I live in San Francisco, a city notorious for all of it's above ground wiring. When I first moved here all I could see were the wires everywhere, but now I don't even notice it. One of the benefits though is that because the many steep hill here many of San Francisco buses use electric wires to power them, helping to cut down on pollution.

    <a href="http://acm.jhu.edu/~sthurmovik/Railpics/11-08-12_SAN_FRANCISCO_MORNINGS/MUNI_Market-St-trolley-wire-web-west.jpg" target="_blank">http://acm.jhu.edu/~sthurmovik...west.jpg</a>

Speaking of wires and geeky themeing, I'm wondering when the telephone poles in Cars Land will be getting their lines installed.

I've seen cities put up trolley wires for modern streetcar systems, and they are numerous and jumbled when they are first strung up. As they get tension in them, they trim and remove the extra wires, leaving a much cleaner appearance. It wouldn't surprise me to see Disney go back in and stain these new grey wires a dark color once they are installed and taut, just to make them look even cooler and vintage.

This rather silly wire topic reminds me how the Internet isn't always a good thing. People sit at their laptop and look at pictures of stuff installed in the first 48 hours and make instant judgements based on absolutely no experience with construction project management, let alone electric streetcar systems and their installation. And then when it turns out it was a nine day process to install the whatever and they saw new pictures of it from the tenth day they say "Oh, well it looks better now that they fixed it, I guess I like it."

Many comments on topics like this make me just stare at the screen in disbelief. I'm really stunned at the instant judgement people make about stuff based off of two small amateur pictures on a laptop.

It's topics like this that also remind me why I don't even try and wade into the discussion over at the Mice place. That discussion board in particular is like being in a room full of 16 year old picky kids hopped up on root beer and very little life experience. Bless their little hearts.

I can't even imagine what the Imagineers working on this trolley project must think of us fans. If they want to stay sane, they must never visit these types of fan discussions.

I dislike all the avatar like pictures to go along with user names, and all the pictures posted in with everyone's posts. It's too much even before you look at the content of the post.

Stay far away from the Disboards. A useful place to help plan a WDW vacation, but they abuse the avatars/pictures/animated smileys worse than any board populated by teenage girls.

It looks like the section of BVS nearest the entrance is the last area to be worked on. It's still pretty unfinished, and I hope they can get it ready by mid June.

I'm not sure what exactly takes place with it, but I suspect it will be some sort of 'citizens' of BVS singing period songs.

Add that to the Newsies-inspired singing newsboy show on the trolley, and the twice-daily runnings of the parade (which will completely shut down traffic on BVS/HPB), and there's actually very little time that guests can ride on the trolley. There's about 30 minutes right after the park opens, sporatic moments throughout the day, and another little chunk around closing time, but it will be really tough to get a ride on these already-low-capacity vehicles
