Edwards himself is a well known white supremacist (who, among other things, has said that slavery is "the greatest thing that ever happened" to African-Americans, and that it would be entirely "logical" to ban interracial marriage) who routinely hosts other WS's (including David Duke multiple times) on his radio show. He also regularly hosts anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers. A real peach of a guy. Trump's campaign is trying to say that yes they granted this guy full press credentials, but that they do that routinely for anyone who asks. That's simply not true; it came out yesterday that they denied credentials to a local Memphis newspaper that mostly serves Memphis' black community. Oops. Perhaps even more damning, Donald Trump Jr. - a leading campaign surrogate - granted an interview to Edwards. Trump Jr. hasn't done that many interviews - they dole them out fairly sparingly (he's simply not as good at blustering through questions on his feet as the old man is). So why grant one to this guy, the white supremacist? Why indeed. Now the Trump campaign is saying "to Donald Trump Jr’s “knowledge and that of the campaign, [he] did not participate in an interview with this individual”. That conflicted, however, with an update given by Edwards himself on his website in which he said: “I apologize for nothing and I retract nothing.” So we'll see if this interview airs or if it's squelched. This, again, is nothing that will probably hurt Trump with his voters. For many of them, it may be a feature, not a bug. But for the general electorate? Getting cozy and doling out rare interviews with a racist and anti-Semite? This makes moderates who thought we were well past those days very uncomfortable. And it's certainly one more thing the Clinton campaign can push hard to the black and Hispanic communities (and on those media outlets) to boost turnout.

This was no mistake, this is how Trump and his people think. I don't know how anyone, other than one of his lackeys, can listen to the horrible things he has said since last summer and still believe that somehow, he is not racist. It's going to come down to who bothers to vote this fall. Trump's side (and I believe he will get the nomination and the GOP will fall in line behind him -- what else can they do?) is fire dup and the will indeed vote. The open question is whether Bernie supporters will do the same or go back to feeling like there's no point.

I've been regularly watching evening MSNBC shows for the first time since the 2014 election cycle, and some of the info being presented on Trump is amazing. MSM is totally giving this d-bag a free pass on just about everything! They're only presenting the soundbites that falsely portray what this guy supposedly stands for, while dismissing the stuff that matters! For instance, how many of Trump's supporters know that their hero wants to take our health insurance system back to way it was before the ACA? In other words, bring back pre-existing conditions so insurance companies can deny giving you a policy because you had acne as a teenager. Or your tonsils taken out. It's on video! Trump promising to ditch Obamacare and bring back pre-existing condition qualifiers! Not even the GOP establishment is going that far! And all of his supporters who are livid about the "illegals" taking taxpayer dollars to live the good life here in the US. Why in hell aren't they LIVID about the HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS that their hero has taken FROM THEM in the form of corporate bankruptcy resolution? Or the fact that he still refuses to release his tax records even though the head of the IRS said he was free to do so? He keeps claiming that he's worth BILLIONS but refuses to prove it through his tax returns. Some pundits claim he's only worth about $400 million or so. And his tax records would show that. But oh no. The Donald doesn't have to prove ANYTHING to his followers. They don't need no stinkin' FACTS to tell them what their hero is worth! Newsflash: THIS IS RACISM. PERIOD! This is why I rail against the SWCM mentality. This is what Trump Delusion is about. It's the return to the SWCM rule. Where everybody else danced to the SWCM tune. And SWCM were completely in charge because that's what G-O-D wants. This is the white supremacist mission statement. This is why they've all jumped on the Trump bandwagon. And Trump is using this to his advantage whether or not he personally believes in any of it. And that's what makes him so effn DANGEROUS!

She needed to do that - she had millions of supporters in 2008, and many of them were bitter indeed that she didn't make it - but she did. And that was important. I think Bernie would be so appalled by the notion of a Trump presidency, that he will have little trouble doing so. Whether he can get his supporters to the polls in November is an open question though. One problem is that so many of them are young, and getting young voters to the polls is always difficult. Obama did it, though, so not impossible. Bernie must know that the chances of him getting the nomination after Tuesday are slim. But he was more than enough money on hand to stay in through the convention. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if "I'll give you my full-throated support AND campaign throughout the Fall for you and tell my supporters they need to vote for you...if you put a couple of things I really care about in the Democratic platform" is a thing in July.
