But one of the things I enjoyed about high school was debating current events, and I had teachers that were good at playing "devil's advocate" and trying to get students drawn into the subject. By the time a kid is in high school, hopefully they can handle a challenge without collapsing into a weeping bowl of jelly. My main objection to this wouldn't be that the teacher held these views, but did he give ample time for students to challenge him? If he's monologing as if Bush and Hitler are one in the same, then that's pretty stupid.
