Understanding/helping with depression

    I don't think there is something that anyone could have said that would have made it easier on me. I appreciated my friends and family's concern but it didn't help in easing the depression. I look at depression like an actual disease (which it is). When I was sick with leukemia it was the same thing, I appreciated people's caring about my well-being but it sure didn't help ease the physical discomfort I was going through.
    I would say just let her know that you are there if she needs to talk.
