It took Disney 22 years to getting around to replacing 20,000 K. How is that an expansion? It's a make over pure and simple. Again, the wall is unnecessary. And like the soccers hat in DHS, an abstruction. There are plenty of improvement that need to happen to Fantasyland. A wall isn't one of them. If, Disney wanted to improve the "appearance" of the area around the castle, then do something with the front of the building in Fantasyland that make the entire area feel like a shopping mall.

Those of us against this move stated that is if 20,000 K was bulldozed then that would be the perfect time to take down Mickey's Toontown (which was suppose to be temporary) and build a more permanent area that would fit in with Fantasyland. Looks like years later we were right!

I think the recent output of WDI might be sometimes questionable with regard to content, but it generally is rather pretty to look at. Even the horrible Toy Story Playland in Paris looks very nice.

The new attractions are occupying a large area that has never been "guest areas" before. And the 20K attraction isn't being "made over," it's been replaced with something completely different. As for the Pooh Playground, I cannot imagine that anyone actually believed that was anything other than a placeholder. Yes, the PR machine rolled out the language, but the reality is that things like that are clearly temporary. (Just like the "temporary" storefront across from the Mad Hatters on Disneyland's Main Street that has been there since 1956!)

To him the Pyramids of Giza are temporary structures.

Unless your talking about the area that once was the drydock for 20,000 K and what looks like on satillite photos to be a small parking lot area (for 20,000K employees I imagine). And, since that area is not yet completed (we will have to wait till it's all finished) I'm not sure how much of that area will still be off limits to guests. Everything else was former Mickey's Toontown.

Disney tends to do that kind of stuff well. Now if we can only get them to not to take decades for the next addition to the MK it would be wonderful.
