I think for the most part they let the crowd take care of itself. There may be a sweep of some sorts later on, but I've never been there late enough to see it (too many vodka martini's!). September 29th is my birthday, and also an Epcot evening EMH. See you there!

I've looked under the curtain of the American Adventure, climbed the stairs into the middle of the Maelstrom, climbed some more stairs up into Spaceship Earth, and as mentioned wandered around the Wonders of Life pavilion. Maybe security could be beefed up a bit. Or maybe they know that us uber-geeks are just looking, and wouldn't hurt anything. Either way, staying the night wouldn't be a problem, I don't think. But those martini's just demand that I spend a few hours in a comfy bed, so I don't think I'll be overnight park storming any time soon!

I went in through an open door and up an unmarked staircase. It's not like I hopped barriers or anything - just a sleepy guy late at night wandering around.

As long as you look like you belong somewhere no one will stop you, even if they see you. And if they actually do, the dumb tourist routine will always work. But that's just what I've heard. I'd never go anyplace I didn't belong!

However, it's my feeling that WDW's security is completely PR driven. When 72-year-old Sid, the retired Boston cop, glances into a diaper bag with his mini-flashlight I just realize how futile it is. I'd feel safer if the checks weren't there because I wouldn't be reminded of how little they do every time I enter a park. I'd love to think TWDC has a sophisticated high-tech, undercover team patrolling their parks and resorts, but I don't believe it for a second. But I do wonder why military copters are constantly flying over DL these days. I don't recall them pre-9/11.
