Thank you, TDG, for your considered opinions and enlightenment. I knew I could count on you to help me in this serious hour of need. I shall adopt your ketchup vs. ranch policy for my household.

Mele. Mele, Mele, mele. How very disappointing. But I suppose no more than can be expected of someone who, no matter what her other many and wonderful qualities might be, does not like The Carpenters. Tsk, tsk.

Now run along and don't bother me with anymore narrowminded nonsense until you've all tried it.

While you were making the bacon sandwiches, and your daughter asked if ketchup would be good, why didn't you try some? I would have put ketchup like on the corner of the bread so she could have a bite of it, then you would know first hand. Oh, and the bread would have to be toasted, regular bread sounds disgusting.

I have a feeling I'm taking this topic a little too seriously - LOL!!!

And on the Miracle Whip/banana thing, in order for this LP'er to try it, I would have to like Miracle Whip in the first place, which I don't, therefore I can't try it. It's Best Foods or nothing baby.....

If we have another meet that I can actually GO to, I swear I'm bringing a jar of Miracle Whip and some bananas and we're going to have ourselves an old fashioned taste-off!!! This should be a requirement for all meets posted in the Meets section of LP.......

In the US, any bread, bacon, lettuce and mayo or white bread, bacon and ketchup.

also, in the UK, people put butter on their bacon sandwiches (indeed any sandwiches). Brown sauce is also popular with bacon - brown sauce is a little like A1 Steaksauce.

Jeez, peeps! Can't we just start the New Year by accepting the fact that food combinations are not INHERENTLY "good" or "bad"?! That the whole "enjoyment" thing is COMPLETELY up to the individual who is partaking of the combination.

C'mon. I had a babysitter who liked mustard on her pancakes. *I*d never do it. But it brought her pleasure. Good for her.

    Live and let live, people.

    Thanks.
