when Savard and others were hit blindsided...there are circumstances where things happen...we understand this as Fans...the Chara hit should have been dealt with...he hit Montreals guy in a very vulnerable part of the ice knowing that he was off balance and could not see it coming...he didn't have to hit him..play was done...it was a careless hit...Chara in the next game cross checked Montadour into the end boards so he did not learn anything...hope to see Crosby back..I think they should have European ice surfaces...there are far fewer injuries....they say...I hope our Canucks do well in the play offs...unfortunately it is a time where a lot of the Great Players on the other teams really wake up...and play...it is a toss up...from the West so many Great Teams...The East also have teams starting to shine...who ever reaches their peak at the right time could win it all...

Funny how people decide if a hit was dirty or not based on their affinity for the team and/or player.

As to the Matt Cooke thing...McDonagh was asking for it the entire game...too bad Cooke was stupid for being so obvious and for not doing a good job. (I can't help it, I like Matt Cooke and have missed him lately.)

What needs to happen is they need to get rid of the stupid instigator rule. As long as star players can't be defended, they're going to get hurt more. I know something needs to be done to protect players but this rule puts players at more risk instead of protecting them.

Granted, you know a lot about hockey, but this is simply biased bull. Give it a rest already, it's almost the end of the next season. You still have some time to make up excuses for the Canucks' early exit this year.

The bluelines will be the key..and that has been a roller coaster all year.

unnecessary interference hit...then he cross checked Montadour from behind into the end boards the next night...kinda takes away any didn't mean too , from the previous evening....

Hey my son loves Matt Cooke..but he is a dirty player...he also can play very good hockey...Gordie Howe was the dirtiest player ever..he also was a player that was exceptional....

No team is the same as they were last year....No one is pouting....Breaks are a part of every Hockey game...Chicago just got a lions share of them over every one else... No one is biased here
ethier...If this pouting , alot of that went on in the next series for the hawks, as they were the subject of the same poor officiating for the next 4 games...Quenville was so irate , he let it be known to Bettman...after the fourth game it changed....

I would say Toews and Kane are the keys,
the Hawks are playing on a bubble...could pop any time....as long as Toews stays healthy they will roll on...Sharks are playing well, Ducks too, Dallas...Redwings , Canucks , well there
playoff seasons begin tonite....because lately they have STUNK....and for the canucks if they were playing Edmonton they would be down 2-0....ALL OF OUR WESTERN TEAMS are very good....just hope
Vancouver plays well, if they lose and play well....that is good... once the teams are set and the first few games are played will we know where our teams stand....would rather see the Hawks in over the Stars... Niemi was more of an
obstacle to hurdle last year...had players had softer hands..he would have been beaten a lot easier, by trying the big blast all the time played into this sparkling goal tenders hand...Crawford will have the daunting task of pressure in the play offs...there is no back up for him...it all rests on his shoulders...

Now, if you wanna talk body language...how about that Torres? (What's with the constipated look on his face all of the time?) Why would you go after a kid on the Oilers, for crying out loud? LOL

hit him instead of going after the puck instead is beyond me...even the Edmonton player says he didn't deliberately try to hit me there..I dropped down to try and avoid the hit...the suspension was harsh...had the Canucks last two games been very important that is all he would have gotten...so they gave him two more , which are play off games...but i tell you the truth I wouldn't want to be the next player who hits that way...the tide is now set ...the next suspension in the playoffs will be very harsh..in my mind...the NHL has now raised the bar...hope the players have learned something....There was no body lanquage on the Torres hit...he was going after the puck first...a split second later he changed his mind...Charas hit...I could read his intentions...his arms came up, he waited, he then he struck the player from behind...it was like waiting for the pitch to come across the plate .before you swung the bat....deliberate and intentional...I used to play soccer with Barry Beck..Stan Smyl...Jack Macalharghy of the flyers...spelt his name wrong...gary lupul... stuff happens...Chara blew this one, he knows it...he is really a gentle giant...he won't follow those footsteps
again...Montadour is my Brothers wifes cousin, he puts it to Chara just been rattled over the injury to the HABS FELLA
    ...
Maybe Torres will now think twice about
dumb moves...if we have the puck..the opposition can not score...

Anyway it is over and done with...hope there are no more injuries to anyone...

Mele...most people disagree with the NHL's position on the Chara hit..anyone
who has seen the video , clearly sees the intent to hit another player into the boards from behind using a thrusting
push of both arms while the player is in a off balanced vulnerable alignment...Chara knows he is very strong and has openly admitted that he has obstained from hits of this calibre in the past...for some reason the dislike of the Montreal Uniform brought the worst out of him..he may have not hit him as deliberate as he wanted to, but he did hit him undisciplinedly...then the next evening he crossed checked the Buffalo sabre in the back straight into the end boards...
Chara is not alone..but he should not think that because a weak kneed NHL
representative dropped the ball..that he will be protected a third time...the NHL
has set the tone...will they address hits from behind and with malicious intent we will have to wait and see...Not saying Charas was malicious because it wasn;t, it was careless and reckless...Crosby...Savard...that was malicious...

I know people in Canada are feeling feisty about it but by NO means do most people agree with the NHL. LOL. It's funny that you think you can read his attentions any better than anyone else who has seen the video (including people who are paid to judge these things). How's that crystal ball workin'? ;-)

Anyway...what I really wanna know...why does Luongo's mask look like a slimy latrine? LOL

"Crystal clear" to you and SOME rabid Canadians (who tend not to see their own teams' questionable hits, Montreal especially). It's not "crystal" by any definition of the word. Thankfully, Chara isn't at the mercy of your laser vision. ;-)

Torres hit I did not like ethier , I think I said that already... : )

Canadian Hockey Fans make no apology for their Enthusiasm and Great Passion for the game...their hearts are filled with pride , they supported your Country like it was their own , when the US won in Lake Placid...
We are the Best Hockey Fans in the World and WE ARE PROUD THAT WE ARE.. : )

So are the Blackhawks going to advance...heard Detroit wants no part
of giving them an easy ride into the play offs, like they did last night...we shall see....
