And we all have rationed healthcare now. Insurance companies tell you what doctors you can see, what tests they'll approve, what medications they'll pay for ... I can't believe there are so many ignorant people (no, obviously, I am not talking about you Pierce) who think that providing healthcare for people is bad. When I see third world-like scenes of 8,000 people lined up at the fabulous Forum in Inglewood to get care, I start thinking it's not just Disney that's jumped the shark, but our (once) great nation. People are just largely ignorant nuts and proud of it! <<So you trust the Government now to do right by you?>> No. I have almost no trust in the government. But I do believe in healthcare for everyone -- whether they are homeless or bluebloods. And I believe the current man has a clue, unlike his predecessor. And I do know that waaay too many Americans (even the poor ignorant masses) believe that capitalism should drive healthcare ... it can't as it is fundamentally at odds with the goal of care for all. Of course, that's just my point, many Americans believe care shouldn't be given to all ... you can't afford it, go earn the money to do so or die in the streets. We're not a very compassionate nation. But let me go watch Glenn Beck. He'll straighten me out!

However the present medical system is stretched super thin with the uninsured swamping the hospitals because it's free. Also providing FREE health care to those who are here illegally. That needs to be addressed certainly as well as catostrophic health care cost. I think anybody not wanting to address those issues are completely ignorant. Personally I think our nation is still great. I have faith in the people long term. Not politicans that seem to have an agenda.

It takes vision, leadership and hard work to make a change, and change takes time. I am very optimistic for the future (unlike say 2 years ago) because there is a leader I can believe in again (I just wish others did too). It takes a wide birth and time for a supertanker to change course.

For people who don't believe we are becoming a third-world nation, it should serve as a huge wake-up call. It won't, though. Because, again, many people (even very poor) believe you should only get medical care if you can afford it. I may be a pinko socialist Commie, but that notion disgusts me to my core. <<However the present medical system is stretched super thin with the uninsured swamping the hospitals because it's free. But what do you do if some illegal shows up at an ER with a stroke ... or their child has a mangled hand that's hanging by a thread after an accident? Compassion isn't cheap, but what's the alternative? And what we have now doesn't work at all. I have 'great' insurance and I can't afford to use it in many ways. <<I think anybody not wanting to address those issues are completely ignorant.>> I agree. But people are busy comparing the Prez to Hitler (egged on by folks on FOX who should be tossed in jail for inciting potentially treasonous behavior) ... talking about killing grammy (personally, I think she has it coming!) ... or taking guns within feet of the Prez (and c'mon, Pierce, you damn well know if anyone tried that with 'W' that the Secret Service or Blackwater would have taken them out with force) ... I am soooo tired of living in a country where so many people have just decided to shut their minds off and not think. <<Personally I think our nation is still great.>> I do ... sometimes. And I believe it can be the beacon to the world it once was ... but not heading down the current road (and I am not speaking of any partisan politics, but in general). <<I have faith in the people long term.>> On that, we'll have to disagree. I have faith in some people. The masses? Not on your life. <<Not politicans that seem to have an agenda.>> They all have agendas. That's why politics is such a vile game. Are some guys (on both sides) better than others? Absolutely. But you still need to sell a piece of your soul (or all of it) to get elected ...and ... I don't even want to talk about this because it's way too depressing and the weekend is coming and I have some trips to plan for!

This isn't gonna play out like with Hillary in the early 90s (who then sold out to the healthcare lobby machine)! If I were Obama, I'd simply and forcefully tell the nation 'Not This Time!' I truly believe his advisors are almost as ignorant as the last guy's! OK ... so what's your favorite character breakfast?

When did that happen? By the way Bush 43, 41, Reagan, Nixon and,Ford as well as Clinton, were all vilified as Hitler. Carter was just to stupid to even qualify. Just like all the Presidents have been defamed from the very beginning. Old news, nothing new. Obama isn't being singled out, it's just that his supporters want him to appear like he has been. How pathetic is that. Just try to name one President that hasn't been strongly critisized for their policies. Would you silence the right, and it's supporters simply because they have differing views from yours. Do you feel they're opinions are of less value then yours ( rhetorical, I already know your answer ). It seems to me that people who disagree with the President are evil protestors now. Protestors only seem to be patriots when a Republican is in office. <<I have faith in the people long term.>> >> On that, we'll have to disagree. I have faith in some people. The masses? This also demonstrates that you can get treated for free in America now, even if you have violated this nations sovereignty. That is a whole set of problems that desperately need to be addressed. >> If I were Obama, I'd simply and forcefully tell the nation 'Not This Time!' << Sounds like a dictator to me.
