BTW< TDLFAN - that's not a Pinnochio costume in pic #18. That dude is dressed like the main character from Kingdom Hearts. :)

Thanks for the pictures, my friend!

Are those decorations going up on Main Street staying until Halloween? If they are, why on earth are they putting them up while there are still people in the park? What happened to everything magically happening when nobody was around? And if they are just for an after hours party, why don't they put them up in the time between the normal operating hours and the extra party? I really think there is no excuse for doing that while there are guests around. I understand painting behind little barricades and stuff, since it can be difficult to do that with artificial light, but walking down Main Street with a ladder putting up signs seems to be way out of character for the land and Disney in general.

Yes, Ken, the P-House has picked up additional space and it's bigger than ever, and horrors! The folks who used to hang out at Mannequins now come to P-House because it's become the hip place to go, especially on Fridays.. free cover till 10pm!!! BTW...catch the drag show as some former Kids of the Kingdom now perform there in the all-male dance revue. :)

    >> Just like WDW everything changes...Some for the better, some for the worse...<<

Re-phraze that...unlike WDW, the P-House has changed for the better.

    >>Are those decorations going up on Main Street staying until Halloween?<<

Yes. The hay and corny ones will be.

    >>If they are, why on earth are they putting them up while there are still people in the park?<<

The decor you see being placed is only used for the MSSHP only. Since they no longer close the park while in transition between day guests and party guests, they are forced to decorate as guests are still inside the park. And at the worst time possible because they have to decorate when day guests are leaving and party guests are arriving..

    >>What happened to everything magically happening when nobody was around?<<

That went out the window at WDW many moons ago. Maybe you should ask them at City Hall or in a letter to Guests Relations.

    >>And if they are just for an after hours party, why don't they put them up in the time between the normal operating hours and the extra party?<<

As I explained before... they DO NOT close the park while they are in transition. Some years ago, they would close the MK for about an hour or so to prepare for their hard ticket parties. Party guests used to be held back at TTC before being allowed to go into the MK. Many of thse guests started complaining that, if they came in to the MK early, they had to leave and come back in... so the bright stooges at Disney decided it was not worth closing the park and allowed those who were already in the park and had bought party tickets to stay in the park. Therefore, if you are already in the park and had bought tickets for the party, you can get a wristband and stay in the MK thru the transitional time.
Hard to explain so I hope you get this..

Good question, and honestly? I don't know the answer. I believe it's mostly an honor system in the part of the day guests. I have some friends who claimed they were able to stay and enjoy the party last year without paying for it. I would never be so bold to try to do this of course, but I believe them. However, the only way you can tell daytime guests and party guests apart would be by the wristband. Party guests have to wear the wristband to participate in several of the party's activities, like the souvenir photo gift and such..

lol - that Mickey ghost balloon looks just like one of my antenna toppers. I, too, was really disappointed with the lack of decorations and the lack of originality. Truly my house looks a lot better.

The photos here of various adults in costume at WDW remind us of how very meaningful and special a visit to the Magic Kingdom can be for people. They deserve better than the non-magical Halloween show they were given.

TDLFAN, thanks once again for taking the time to compose the photos, caption them, and upload them to LaughingPlace.

I can't believe you didn't trash the guy in the red "wife-beater" shirt.

Especially when a separate admission fee is involved. However, I will be the first one to admit that the halloween party can be a fun event. I just feel it's not worth the money they charge. Maybe $28.99 tops but not over that.

Your detractors should be here to read you post that highly non-negative comment.

Still, the day guests deserve better. If there's going to be a Halloween theme, there should be more than straw and scattered gourds. And the guests shouldn't have to watch poorly-dressed workers install signs as they're being kicked out of the Park.
