Since they no longer close the park while in transition between day guests and party guests, they are forced to decorate as guests are still inside the park. Some years ago, they would close the MK for about an hour or so to prepare for their hard ticket parties. Party guests used to be held back at TTC before being allowed to go into the MK. Many of thse guests started complaining that, if they came in to the MK early, they had to leave and come back in... so the bright stooges at Disney decided it was not worth closing the park and allowed those who were already in the park and had bought party tickets to stay in the park. Therefore, if you are already in the park and had bought tickets for the party, you can get a wristband and stay in the MK thru the transitional time. Hard to explain so I hope you get this..

I don't know the answer. I believe it's mostly an honor system in the part of the day guests. I have some friends who claimed they were able to stay and enjoy the party last year without paying for it. I would never be so bold to try to do this of course, but I believe them. However, the only way you can tell daytime guests and party guests apart would be by the wristband. Party guests have to wear the wristband to participate in several of the party's activities, like the souvenir photo gift and such..

The lower ones are still unpainted, and some small scaffolding has gone up on either side of the Clock tower to fix some of the earlier damage caused by the giant Mirror from hell.
