Alcohol can cause a variety of immediate adverse effects on the body, including headache, rapid heartbeat, nausea or vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, nasal congestion, or warm, red, itchy skin.

Many people of Asian descent experience an unusual flushing reaction after drinking alcohol — even in very small amounts. This is caused by a genetic disorder in which the body is unable to break down alcohol completely. Some research suggests that people who experience alcohol flush reaction may be at increased risk of alcohol-related conditions, such as cancer of the esophagus and liver disease.

The only solution to all of these problems is to avoid alcohol."

There is, indeed, lots of bad wine in the world.

It wasn't until I had a late dinner with a friend at the Contemporary's California Grill that I found wine that I liked. We had planned it to have a relaxing meal with a good view of Cinderella Castle changing colors after the fireworks-viewing-crowd had cleared out.

Since it wasn't terribly busy it was very leisurely and the waitress noted my scrunched up face as I stared down their long wine selection list. She proposed a plan - we try everything.

She returned with a full cart of wine, glasses, etc.. red white rose chard etc.. even some thing it turns out my foodie friends are quite jealous I got to sip for free. We went "A or B?" like you do when getting fitted for eye glasses for about 15 minutes until we decided that I prefer very sweet or very dry whites with zero tolerance of reds.

And with that knowledge I've been able to order something I like with most meals since. Maybe you just need that sort of testing-out to find a good wine for you?

I like the smoothness of the whites and the sweetness of the pink zinfandels, and the super sweet tastes of the moscatos( and if anyone doens’tknow, a moscato is a super super sweet white wine, it’s like drinking sugar, its’ good for after dinner, the alcohol content is very low in a moscato)
