And I understand why they have the restrictions, but some of it does seem to be overkill. It seems odd that I can't find a way to tell another player that I'm an adult.

I found VMK a goofy place to play, and as much as I think the "do you want to be my boy" posts, (that you get there, are a bit odd,) they really don't bother me.
I like the way they filter the chat. It is simple, and it works.

Honestly, I'm not sure - outside of manning the site with more Admins - how they can truly protect kids from peds - especially from those who pretend to be kids.

It would work better to prevent 'phrases'... such as "I live in Redondo Beach" for example.

It is a game, not a message board, so the chat feature is more to allow youto find things or help others find things than it is a place to meet and talk about stuff.
I for one like it that way, for the other stuff there are places like LP.

there has to be a better way to earn points, specialy since film for the "hidden Mickey hunt" costs 200 credits.
I need to see if they have VMK cards at the local Disney store.

and follow the instructions, it is really simple. nothing fancy or hard about it at all.
as far as skills you have to be able to play a few games, and the VMK cards I was talking about are like collector cards with various goodies attached.
there are also some games you can play at the park, ( to earn credits I think) . It is not that the game is hard, but there are diffrent levels or ways to play.

Oh, and I checked the kid comment, I tried it on vmk and it worked for me. You should be able to say "I am not a kid."

I'm curious about this mommy thing...there are some rooms where someone can find a mommy? What's all this about?

Even if someone is a pedophile, it is still quite difficult to get any real information from people, so kids are more protected than they would be elsewhere.

You can find a list of codes on http://www.vmkforums.com. MrGenie created the topic "All Multi-Use Secret Codes Released to Date" however you will have to become a member to view them. They will get you 1600 credits, then if you visit the Yeti, Dragon, Shrunken Ned, Captain Blackheart, and Esmeralda for the first time, you will rack up another 200 credits (40 per character). The first time you make a music mix in the Street Music Party game, they give you 100 credits, and then another 100 credits for playing the mix. That gets you to 2,000 credits to start off with, plus an extra 200 they give you the first time you sign on.

Hope that helps.

It will state that you are not supported, but close that window and go for it.

I have found it works best with Safari.

You will crash often, but that happens to everyone, PCs and Macs.
