What!?!?!? no on Prop 8 had nothing to do with government encouraging anything. The only thing it was for was to let Gay couples enjoy ALL the same benifits straight couples have.

Josh this has been explained to you - I can only think you are dense!
Do you really think if 8 had failed all the kids would be running around saying - woo hoo let's all be gay... Arnold wants us to be!!
Give me a break. You and yours only want 8 to pass because you are scared of your own feelings!

Not if you are asking the state to TAKE AWAY their right to marry.

Now I think you are just being stubborn.

The church has made a statement regarding Prop 8. It's not full of lies or hate, I promise.

This is far from over. Like all struggles for fairness, sometimes it's a long fight. But time and history are on the side of those who were against this measure. And court cases may reveal the whole proposition to be on wobbly ground, too.

Rest assured that there will be an effort to overturn this discriminatory, bigoted measure. It may take time, but it will happen.

I'll do everything I can to support a measure to overturn this. I'll give time and dollars, and hopefully millions of others who are outraged by this bigotry will step up as well.

Josh, a hundred years from now, probably much sooner, the only time our great grandchildren hear about bigotry like yours is when they learn about it on Matthew Shepard day.

That's progress. That's an imperfect world slowly but surely coming closer to understanding God and God's creation. It doesn't happen quickly. But it will happen.

Because you're not the only one with faith.

<<We hope that now and in the future all parties involved in this issue will be well informed and act in a spirit of mutual respect and civility toward those with a different position. No one on any side of the question should be vilified, intimidated, harassed or subject to erroneous information.>>>

So now that the election is done they think there should be mutual respect and not spread erroneos info!!

<<It is important to understand that this issue for the Church has always been about the sacred and divine institution of marriage — a union between a man and a woman.>>

    SEPARATION BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE!!!

<<Allegations of bigotry or persecution made against the Church were and are simply wrong. The Church’s opposition to same-sex marriage neither constitutes nor condones any kind of hostility toward gays and lesbians. Even more, the Church does not object to rights for same-sex couples regarding hospitalization and medical care, fair housing and employment rights, or probate rights, so long as these do not infringe on the integrity of the traditional family or the constitutional rights of churches. >>

Bigotry it Bigotry... saying it's not doesn't change the facts.
How they can use contitutional rights for them makes me want to puke!!

I guess this is what Josh needs to believe to look at himself in the mirror!~

Yup - until the Mormon church changes its mind, they won't either. Reading about this and the sanctimonious happiness people take from taking rights away from others makes me sick. Hopefully, one day those people will come face-to-face with the people they've hurt and see the real damage they've caused - all in the name of religion. Or maybe one day, they'll have a gay child - oh, I forgot, their child won't make that "choice".

Because they say so. LOL! They can lie and lie, and their followers are free to lap it all up if they wish. But they spent millions on a measure to take away rights from people. That's bigotry, like it or not.

Yeah, and it's a bunch of crap. Saying you're not bigots doesn't make it so. It was a hateful, mean-spirited campaign full of lies and fear-mongering. And now your $@%#%^ church wants to tell people that they aren't trying to discriminate. What an absolute joke!

Even when there are many gays amounts their own kind.

But thats not the case. I for one can't understand why.

We actually had a constitutional amendment that made alcoholic beverages illegal. Isn't that a ridiculous notion? Can you imagine it being a crime for an adult to have a beer after a long day at work? It happened, and then, once people sobered up (LOL), they went to work to repeal the foolish nonsense.
