These people don't deserve civil rights?
    Selfish.

I feel like I'm seeing my fellow Mormons plainly for the first time. It's terribly sad. I'm so unhappy and disgusted over this. I feel I can no longer count myself among them.

Josh and his ilk just put their imaginary friend ahead of our very real, live, breathing friends in California. They still don't understand the simple truths that just because they believe something, doesn't make it so. Rather than err on the side of caution and say, "I believe this, but since I have no proof, I won't force it on others," they plowed ahead like the drunken sailors they are. It's just so awful.

I surely hope not, but I do fear the worst...

I wonder if Mr. Monson will even give it a second thought.

Don't you know? God actually wanted this. See, the Mormon God is a naive, racist, sexist, bigoted pig. He wants white men in charge of everything. He wants gay people to go without love their entire lives. He wants women to be subservient to men. He's also opposed to ideas and intellectualism. And for good measure, he's also opposed to such important things as tattoos, earrings, and hairstyles. But he's ok with torture and war.

Say hi to the Mormon god, everybody!

The vast majority of Mormons do not think critically about these things and the vast majority refuse to do anything against what their prophet tells them.

We just witnessed it folks. We just witnessed religious extremism - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Don't let Mormonism's size and air of respectability fool you. We just witnessed people donating money they couldn't afford, in some cases most of their life savings, because a guy none of you have ever heard of in Salt Lake City, Utah, told them to. We just watched a group almost single-handedly take away the rights of a much larger group. That's powerful ignorance and stupidity. We have to stand up and fight against it every step of the way.

My thoughts exactly- I have always not liked my Utah past but for prob the first time I am ashamed of it...

Florida's lost by 2 percent (needed under 60 to fail)

    Next time it'll pass-

Did pass. It OUTLAWS gay marriage.

There was a totally deceptive (read: LIES) TV ad that ran incessantly the last few days, and the onslaught of signs and billboards was a wonder to behold. No on 8 did not have the resources to counter. Not even close.

The media savvy of the Mormons was a wonder to behold. I swear they could've gotten McCain elected.

Exit polls said African American churchgoers were a big part of it as well.
