Can't you hit Kmart in Hawaii? I know we did and Costco too-lol but we were on Oahu and it is like a big city there. You could smoosh one into your luggage in a green garbage bag and then have your family go down to the lobby and look in one of the shops and wait for you to "fix your makeup" or something while you set it up on the first day. Then when you came back that evening, they would all be surprised! I bet you could pull it off somehow.

I am amazed at the tricks I pull off when we are there. Every night the kids get toys and treats from tinkerbell. She comes after they fall asleep. I bring a whole suitcase full and keep it in the closet. Never once have I been caught taking it out-lol. Once I fell asleep but in the middle of the night, I woke up and remembered-whew, close call!

I even get treats when we are at DL and when we leave the next day, I run back into the room, "forgot something" and set them out! It is easy and usually I am fast enough to beat the elevator even.

I wish you luck but really I would reconsider getting it at that cost and then not having it at the hotel and to add insult to injury, having to go PICK it up-no way. Honestly, it's not that great. If you have your heart set on something from VP, maybe consider one of the baskets or something else but there again, you can do it so much better for a lot less money yourself.

Aww, it is so cute and my dd loves Pooh. She will love the tree and we always have a little tree in each room. Her tree currently is a pink "barbie" type of tree and she does NOT like barbie so she will be overjoyed to replace it with pooh when we come home!

I love the pink tree with the pink lights so if DH can stand it, I will put that one in my room-lol!

Ok, you got me thinking about little trees and surprises so today I will be doing some running around and thinking what I can do.
It's funny because I wouldn't even spend 185.00 for a real tree when I am at home but somehow Disneyland can always make me part with my money and leave me wondering later why did I do that. LOL.

(I already packed the tree without the box into the luggage and stored the box up in the attic! It smashed up tiny. It has 6 round ball ornaments with a flat part and a sticker of a pooh character on it and then a really cute pooh figure that holds a star for the top of the tree. No light, nothing else and the tree is kind of a shinny green color, not like the regular fake trees. Pricey for a fake tree, IMHO, would not have bought it if dd wasn't a Pooh fanatic!

Today I went BACK to target and bought a bunch of the $2.50 stuff they had by the dollar section to add to the tree. They have tubes of 16 tiny ball ornaments, boxes of 8 small mirror ornaments and lights and even garland.

I then went over and check out the Princess tree Target has, no pooh tree there and it looked the same as Home Depot, packaged the same but for some reason looked bigger and I did not see the tink tree others wrote about. Must have been all gone I guess. I looked there for extra pooh ornaments and they only had big ones for big money-lol. There were boxes of small ornaments but no disney ones, had spongebob, dora, etc..

The best tree was the small fiber optic tree, it was nice and full and already lit up and then decorate it with the 2.50 stuff and get a few special ornaments (or the link to the mickey tree above!) HTHs!

I got all the tink toys out and wrapped them-lol! That tinkerbell paper at target is so so cute and a big roll for just $2.99-70 sq ft.

Then I pulled the tree out again and semi decorated it with the lights and garland and balls and then slipped it in a plastic bag in the luggage but I just wanted to warn any of you who bought the $2.50 battery lights at Target. You will NEED a small phillips screwdriver to put the batteries in the lights. I put the lights on already and then folded up the branches around them and left the screws off so I can easily replace the batteries while we are there. I bought 2 strings and that was plenty because the lights are really bright.

Now I should really go and pack my own clothes-lol!

Just found out my daughter has a game she has to cheer for on Friday, so it looks like a late night AND an early morning wake-up call. LOL..yikes!

At least I got some of the ironing done for our trip. Still so much more that needs to be done!!

    When do you leave?

I hope you get better before you leave but you have been struggling for a while. A quick trip to the dr. might be in order for you!

Yuk, ironing! That is where I am stalled-lol. I have to iron my clothes before I pack them. I hate ironing! I only like doing the fun stuff so this morning I wrapped all the tink gifts in tink paper I got from target and decorated the Pooh tree! I sorted everything and bagged it up for each night and then put it in the suitcase. That was fun but then I thought I really should pack my clothes but didn't feel like dragging the ironing board out-ugh. Tomorrow is the absolute last day to get that done so I can have everything else ready. We leave Thursday right after the kids get out of school at 2:30!!

Why don't you try what 4Disnee does and leave at 2am Friday night? That way you will beat the traffic and still have a whole full day at DL on Sat! Is your hotel booked for Friday night or Sat? We were going to do that but then dh said he could leave work early so that is how we got an extra day! I was afraid I would be so tired driving at night but they seem to do it just fine.

I did get a giggle out of your DH getting the tickets! You didn't send him with the Visa now, did you?!

Yes, yes I did! AND, I don't feel guilty either! um...okay, maybe a little, but he did offer!

Actually, we are following 4Disnee's plan, which I HATE doing. I would much rather drive at night than get up early and drive. To be truthful, I get horrible insomnia so I'm a night owl. I can easily make the drive at night. But driving at 2 am or 3 am is difficult because that is my usual good 'sleep' time when I finally unwind enough to actually fall sleep.

I hate ironing too, with a passion! LOL..but I hate wrinkled clothes anymore. My clothes are in stacks, they just need to be bagged. I also need to coordinate my daughter's outfits. Hubby is own his own for packing!

I plan on having everything done and packed by Thursday, which trust me, is a lot to accomplish the next couple days.

Our hotel reservation is for Saturday night in Hollywood. Our first night in Disneyland will be Sunday.

Maybe we will run into you at Hojo's! LOL...I've seen your family pics from 4Disnee's pics (no worries..I'm not a stalker! LOL) and if I see you I'll say "hi"! Remember, we'll be the family of 3 with the teenage girl!

We won't be a HoJos this time though, staying at DLH! I booked way back in Aug and got the 4th night free deal and it is already paid for! Then we added the extra night but had to do PP cause DLH was booked up so we have to do the "switch" on Friday morning. At least they will do it for us so that will be nice and since we will be there, hopefully we will get a nice room. We do DL through Wed and then Hollywood through Sat!

I feel for you with the driving in the night! I just don't think I could do it and then keep myself up and going the whole next day. Hopefully you can check in early at the hotel and get a rest for the big Magic Show! That will be so much fun. Can't wait to hear how you liked the hotel in Hollywood too. Have a wonderful trip!

I am trying to drag myself away from the computer and get to the ironing and packing-lol. I still have the toiletries and electronics and my clothes plus a few extra things like the kids wetsuits and goggles. We take them everywhere and the weather looks nice for our trip but the pool is always too cold for my skinny beans-lol.

We still have a big project to complete before we leave for DDs bday-ugh. She had a ceramics party and the pottery is ready to be picked up as of today so we have to deliver them all (14 of them) with her thank-you notes that she has not written yet! Do I sound a little panicked??!! I am tempted to write them myself!

Thanks atinkfan for your well wishes! I will really try and do our trip report this time. I am taking my laptop so I hope to check in here too.

Feed your notecards into the computer and printout the thank you note. Then, just have your DD sign them! Makes it much easier on the kids!

Or, for my daughter's last birthday, I took a really cute pic of her then used a graphics program to write the thank you ON the pic and that was the Thank You card. Very simple!

    Will write more later...

LOL..despite my behaviour on here, I do tend to typically be shy, but I'll still say "hi" if I see you. My daughter always teases me because she says that I lose my shyness when at Disneyland and she can't believe how outgoing I am compared to normal. Then I remind her its DISNEYLAND! Who has time to be shy at DISNEYLAND?! hehehe...I'm like a little kid when I get there. I get all excited!

I wish we were staying at the Disneyland Hotel this trip, but I didn't get ressies in time and so the prices were outrageous for Thanksgiving week by the time we decided we could go. BUT, I'm not complaining...I got Hojo's for a terrific deal!

    >>>We still have a big project to complete before we leave for DDs bday-ugh<<<

You sound like me! I'll be delivering cookie dough the day before we leave! Just found out that is the school delivery date for the cookie dough fundraiser. I can tell you that I sure didn't have THAT planned on my schedule! LOL..oh well, another thing to keep me on my toes!

Still debating on the issue of taking my laptop with me. Would love to be able to access Ridemax. Did I read somewhere that Hojo's lets you use their printer??? That would make things much simpler! Decision, decisions....

ATINKFAN, thank you so much for your kind comments! We'll be sure to wave at Tinkerbell for you as she flies by at night!

I've taken our laptop to hojos before and had no trouble at all. Even left it right out on the desk but never took a printer yet-lol! That would be over the top for DH who was shocked that I took the photo printer last time. Just call Hojo and ask them about using the printer, you know they are so nice. Then see how much it would be, some places charge per page but a nominal amount like a dime or a quarter.

I know all about shy-lol. It is funny though when in DL, I surprise myself by talking to people in line. I like that we are all in the same line but could be from all over the world. We have really met some interesting and funny people but my kids tease me saying I am always talking to strangers!
