Four years is not an honest mistake. Where's your indignation for Republicans being tax cheats? Doesn't matter if Daschle deliberately did not pay the tax. You criticized him for being a "tax cheat" while supporting a Republican who didn't pay his taxes for four years. That's hypocrisy, pure and simple.

So how could you go 4 years?

Two, Sen McCain lost the election, and isn't being considered for a cabinet position. Three, not paying a small property tax on a rental held by a trust isn't the same as misstating your income.

Holy flurkin' schnit, What as absolutely frickin' dumbass position to take. Did you come up with that all on your own? "Three, not paying a small property tax on a rental held by a trust isn't the same as misstating your income." No, his mistake was over 7 times greater than Mrs. Killefer's $900 error the Repubs went BALLISTIC over.

Another post that mistakes an insult for an argument. I don't see Republicans going "ballistic" over any of the President's nominees; I see them voicing reasonable concerns. In fact, here's a link to a Republican pundit saying Mrs. Killefer's mistake was no big deal - http://online.wsj.com/article/...433.html "Maybe there is more to the story than this, but if the AP's report is accurate and complete, the outrage here consists in the withdrawal of her nomination. Unlike Geithner and Daschle, she paid her delinquent taxes in full long before Obama even became a serious candidate for president. If an error corrected in a timely fashion leads to this sort of public humiliation, why would anyone accept an appointment to a government post?"
