No they wouldn't. They need to keep the hype going, and that would be 4 years until completion. Universal doesn't have the benefit of Disney's legacy where people are going to show up no matter what.

They need to be smart about this, and starting construction before an announcement is smart.

I think, that with Phase I of Potter open, they have a pretty huge reason to get people in that park. Attendance has been huge.

They can at least mention it.

And when people find out that there is more coming in a few years, they'll say, "We can wait."

Start deconstructing LC after the summer, then announce it next year.

If it's four years away, I doubt people will wait that long, or know about it.

You always make claims that guests are uninformed... Here's that claim, now.

Are you being sarcastic? I stopped feeling the Magic from Disney advertising years ago. Now they just trigger a gag reflex. And I LOVE Disney World.

Yes I was. I'm really tired of seeing Cinderella hug little girls in front of the castle.

I've heard nothing but great things about everything connected to Harry Potter at Uni. However that commercial just didn't make me want to visit. I'm curious how the commercial is going over with the majority of people.

I agree. I just think the commercial falls flat. At least with me it does.

Do you think LP.com could handle a thread on fans and mental illness? And, yes, that's a serious question (just like I firmly believe ... maybe know would be a better term ... that it is a large problem in the fan community).

Disney fandom (hell, most fandom) and mental illness go hand in hand. This is why members of a particular fandom construct safe havens to act out their obsessions on the Internet. Outsiders believe you to be weird, insane or even a drain on society (and they may be right to varying degrees), but as long as you only interact with like-minded people, you're safe.

About the only fandom that is actually okay seems to be sports. As long as you don't cover yourself up in paint, you can pretty much obsess over pointless professional sports all the time and nobody will think you are any less of a man. In fact, it is your God-given right to be unreasonable and crazy about sports, sports and more sports.

As always I counter with Penn Jillette's critique of the phrase, "Get a life." and all is well.

If it's in 3D, how good can it be when the central area of focus is blurry and flickery with muddied colors? Unless they used a 3D technology that fixes all of those problems, I'm not sure how immersive of an experience it can be.

Roger Ebert sets us straight on the appeal of 3D: "3-D is a distraction and an annoyance. Younger moviegoers may think they like it because they've been told to, and picture quality is usually far from their minds. But for anyone who would just like to be left alone to see the darned thing, like me, it's a constant nudge in the ribs saying never mind the story, just see how neat I look."

I think the same applies to 3D in theme parks.
