But use it somehow that's new, surprising, technologically advanced, original, and fun! I have no idea what, but that's what WDI is for, right? And how hard is it to make something that fits in Tomorrowland? Really? Yeah, okay, so leave it alone. :/

I am so glad I am the only one in my 'hood to not have firearms. My screen might be holy when all is said and done.

Even if WDFM had the space -- which they don't, not by a long shot -- it does not belong there. It belongs in a theme park, preferably a Disney theme park.

Now I would be in favour of an update, if Disney did it right. But I have no faith in their ability to produce a good edutainment product any longer. And having it is better than no.
Originally Posted By Bolna Besides the fact that the attraction could need some refurbishment, the one thing that really bothers me about the CoP is that the jump from the past to supposed future is now 60 years or even more. The last scene in the past is in the 40s, a decade that the vast majority of WDW visitors will only know from history books. One can tell that it was originally intended to be otherwise, the scenes in the past did cover an era that the audience still remembered. I think just keeping updating the last scene does not really make it any better. But besides that I really like the CoP. From my European perspective it is a very American attraction. Not only does it feature holidays which for me are very American holidays (besides Christmas), but also the message about believing in progress (and the great big beautiful tomorrow) appears to be very American.
Originally Posted By Goofyernmost I cannot think of an attraction that fits into Tomorrowland better than CoP. Why, you ask? I'll tell you (you knew I would). Historically the attraction has completely changed as far as purpose is concerned. When built it tried to reflect the future even though it started out with the past. Now every single second of it is the past. I would be willing to bet that those of you that have children or had children within the past 30 years and in the future, have no real way of conveying where we came from. My kids, now in their mid thirty's never knew that TV wasn't always in color until a rerun of "I Love Lucy" came on and they jumped up to adjust the color. Never knew or even thought about what life was like before electricity because they always thought it just was there. Even I, being older than dirt wasn't really tuned into what life at the turn of the last century was like. CoP's new function is to inform most of todays adults and children about what it was like and where we came from. We are such a "right now" society that needs immediate gratification that I think it's good to look back and ponder a time when you waited for whatever you wanted. No Domino's delivery, online shopping or even driving to the grocery store. They didn't go anyplace and when they did, it was a big deal. Maybe they could change the name to something like "The Carousel of Progress Timeline" We don't know where we are going until we see where we have been. I'm a baby boomer, well actually "boomer" is a misnomer, I am more of a minor Pop now instead of a Boom, anything that happened in the last 60 years, I have lived through. Anything in the last 30 years my kids have lived through. No need to rehash that. My kids were amazed at what life had been like, they never knew or even thought about it. They did after seeing it though. I thought it was a great learning tool especially since everyone that was alive at the turn of that century is now gone. How else do we know without something like CoP. Different intent, but and important one at the very least. Tomorrow is deeply connected with Yesterday. All they really have to do to update the last scene is put cell phones in all the characters hands and have them texting. No dialog will be necessary because everyone will have their head down calmly clicking away without even having to acknowledge anyone in the room.

Perhaps the path of least resistance is to keep it as it is.

For me, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder are a waste of time compared to CoP. I can take my family on coasters anywhere, including near to my home. CoP is an only Florida deal.

Run the older Disney movies in cinemas. Hey, if they were legitimately talking about putting two Magic Kingdoms side by side in Tokyo then this idea might have some merit. And, dare I say, I think the attenedance would be pretty solid.
