It provides greatly needed perspective on where we came from which helps you get a feel for where we may be going. How people can mourn a silly ride with day-glow plywood cutouts (Toad) and then talk about tearing down a significant attraction like the Carousel of Progress is totally beyond my comprehension. Small World has also changed hardly at all since its NY World’s Fair debut… I suppose it should be relegated to the trash heap too…

The only reason that Tomorrowland is exaggerated is because no one can imagine what really lies ahead. That is why I think that eventually Tommorrowland will be renamed Sci/Filand. No effort is being made at all to look for a realistic model of what the future might be like. It's just too hard to guess. CoP grounds us. It now tells us how it was...not exaggerated, but really how it was. Even the last scene is now "real". I am a firm believer that the past holds the key to the future. It shouldn't be short changed or declared uninteresting because it isn't moving at the speed of light or causing one's heart to beat extra.

My idea of maintaining the Disney heritage is more with maintenance, cleanliness, attention to detail, and overall concern with show. Not necessarily keeping an old ride. I do have concerns like VBDAD that it would not be replaced or replaced with something of lesser quality.

If COP was removed from MK, I'd hope they would add something comparable that is mildly entertaining and not too busy.

Drink one didn't feel that strong going down, but as soon as I had a few tastes of #2, I felt #1 kicking in! Wish you had been there. Only if you're going to simply give in and say the 'lands' of the MK have no meaning other than generic Disney MAGIC. This attraction is absolutely timeless (sorry, Hokie, much like Small World whether you individually like it or not). PROGRESS is never out of date (trying hard to not talk about like in 2011 USA!) The CoP would have to be made more relevant and that doesn't mean just a more modern final scene. It would likely mean combining a few earlier eras and bringing in a show scene (or two) that shows the tremendous leaps we've made technologically over the past 40 years ... everything from 8-track tapes to video games could be included as we jump to our (supposedly) limitless present where we can check wait times for the other rides with an app on our stupid phones!
