Oh, and was VERY relieved when MJ started singing & dancing - I was wondering what the heck Disney was thinking up until that point. Also, I agree with Jim - MJ wasn't totally creepy yet at this point - he was just at OMG-he-totally-looks-like-Diana-Ross.

After one time I really didn't need to see it again. When Muppets 3D came next, it was a very welcomed addition. For me, a night and day difference when it came to repeat visits. It too has great production/efx, but EO was initially impressive because it really was the first presentation of a 3D/4D show for Disney's guests.

BTW HISTA, Muppets and ITTBAB hit the scene, they had to compete with others.

The green homing beacon blinked into the theater. That one robot had a spotlight on his chest which scanned the audience when he was looking for Captain EO after the crash. Lots of lasers and smoke in the Star Wars-like battle scenes. When Captain EO is shining his 'magic' on Angelica Houston's character, he appears to be floating in the theatre. When Captain EO tears off his jacket toward the end and shows his rainbow T-shirt, it had an interesting glow effect. Good stuff overall.... The effects were all pretty obvious.

I was and am a huge fan of Eo. Loved the show, loved the effects, loved the music. It was also shown at DL in the theater in Tomorrowland that currently is housing HISTA. It worked very well there, right next to Star Tours.
