It's projections of characters and effects elements (like that flowing lava effect) integrated with practical sets, both wet and dry, except for the parts that don't involve projections at all, like the first five minutes of the ride before you even enter the dark show building. I would never have thought of it as "watching television". Still, the "Ghost Galaxy" overlay is kind of mediocre. That seems to be the consensus, but I think we can all deal with it for a month.
