From the T-1000 in T2, to the dinosaurs of Jurrasic Park. To worlds and armies in Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. To Dr. Manhattan's big blue wang.

I'm sure everyone leaving the theater were wondering about the crazy woman laughing her fool head off. I loved this movie and The Comedian haunted me after. Rorschak was also amazing! I will be owning the DVD and may even read the graphic novel (not a particular fan of that medium).

I'm heading out to Blockbuster today to get some of his other films. I'm late to the game when it comes to him, but he's now on my favorite actor list. Oh, and a tip for those of you who loved the Minutemen and the backstories. Watch Under the Hood when it comes out next week (it's coming to DVD with The Black Freighter). I watched it last night, and it blew me away. It's a very good faux-documentary about the original Nite Owl, Hollis Mason. Definitely don't miss it!

I'm hoping Hollis' death is one of those cut scenes. Were there any particular scenes you guys who have read the book wish had been in the film? My most missed scenes are the ones at the newstand, with Bernard and the boy (I can't think of his name at the moment). I know some of them were filmed, but I'm really, really hoping for some of the scenes between Bernard and Walter Kovacs (Rorschach). I especially love the one where Bernard remarks that the world didn't end yesterday, and Walter replys, "How do you know it didn't?" I'd give my eyeteeth to see that one scene.

And I keep falling more and more in love with Jackie Earle Haley's performance. I know you're not supposed to like a guy like Rorschach, but I can't help it. Yes, his methods are definitely questionable, but as Jackie said in an interview, the bottom line is that in Rorschach's mind, his every move is to protect the victim. I'm not sure why this performance has hit me so hard (in real life, I'd never get along with someone like Rorschach, even if he weren't a vigilante as his political and social views are quite different from my own), but I can't help but feel for him. He had a hell of a childhood, a horribly rough life and he's spent his entire life trying to make things better for the victimized people of the city, but no one understands that. It's just a powerful statement.

Malin just didn't do it for me in the movie (with the exception of the final scene on Mars), and some of her line deliveries made me sigh and roll my eyes. She was okay, but she was the weak link in the film for me. JDM was quite wonderful as the Comedian. The more I watch the movie, the more I enjoy his performance. The one performance that is really growing on me, though, is Matthew Goode's as Ozymandias. I wasn't too keen on his performance the first time I watched the movie (his accent fluctuated for me, and it kept taking me out of the film), but after reading an interview that talked about his accent choice, I was able to get past that and really come to enjoy him. They went with an American accent for Ozy in public and a Germanic one in private, and that really works for me the more I see the movie.
