It could be a wet, adventurous journey through an Amazon jungle temple, based loosely on the film (which I know wasn't as well received as the first three). Still, a water ride for the park based on a movie is very viable if done right, whether its Indiana Jones, National Treasure, or some other franchise. I don't see why it couldn't fit within the park's theme. No different than other rides that are already there.

I know that the first two movies were apparently somewhat disappointing in regards to profits and whatever. But it seems like it still is a powerhouse franchise. Or has HP done away with it in the fantasy/adventure realm as a go to classic? I actually have no idea of the status of the movies, but Dawn Treader would be a great water ride if done well.
Originally Posted By HokieSkipper <<Is there going to be a Dawn Treader movie?>> Yes, it's coming out in a few weeks(shows how much buzz it's getting, eh?). But it's not a Disney movie. They relinquished the rights to Narnia.

Not sure how, but I can't imagine such a powerhouse franchise flopping. All sorts of synergy potential. But even their lame "attraction" they had at the studios shows how half-arsed they pushed it. Is it a dead franchise on its own and I'm old? Or did Disney kill it with bad promotion? Or did the fans of the books dislike the movies? What happened?

The old Indy movies had some pretty wild moments, but there's never a moment where you thought, "Who the hell thought this was a good idea?" And there were plenty of those moments in this one. Giant ants? Monkeys teaching Shia LaBidiot how to swing like Tarzan? Basically the entire amphibious transport scene. 3. Aliens and the crystal skull storyline goes against the Indy formula. He searches for things that are actually important to cultures in the other movies. The crystal skulls aren't part of any culture's mythology or religion. And the aliens(or interdimensional beings...WTF!?) go against the Indy Universe, which is a place where spiritual things have crafted the world and help to protect their people. Not sci-fi. 4. Way too much CGI. 5. George Lucas, but that goes along with #1 and #4. 6. no real challenge for Indy. The entire movie, you never feel like the characters are in any trouble. The whole time Indy is a step ahead of the bad guys instead of, as he says, "Making it up as he goes."

The man was involved in the 2 entertainment holy trinities of my youth! But he was just too old to play the same kind of Indy in this. They needed to grow Indy up, and they just didn't. And they had done the older adventurer so well with The Last Crusade and Sean Connery. So we know they know how to do it. For the record, they did do somewhat better with Karen Allen.

Originally Posted By HokieSkipper <<But he was just too old to play the same kind of Indy in this.>> I disagree. Remember, Indy drank from the Holy Grail. That has to do something for keeping you a little fit, even if you are older. And Indy would never be his father when he got older. Henry was more of a book worm than an adventurer.
