People like OHC since it "produces" more horse power generally. an OHV engine however revs lower, generally cheaper to operate and maintain, and often last a very long time (Ever see a GM Series II 3800 that didn't last well over 300k?). The downside is they don't rev as high etc. But if you want a durable long lasting engine this is the way to go. Since the Japanese use OHC though, everyone's gone OHC.
