That's all you needed. It's all anyone gets, anyway.

Midway Mania may be a blast but its cumbersome back story can only detract from the fun--not to mention any sense of being in a Victorian pier.

The backstory of the ride should be "Midway shooting gallery ride." Period. You go on a ride, you shoot stuff, it's themed to a midway, like on a pier.

That's good enough of a back story. But they have to cram all this other stuff around, doing gyrations because the ride basically makes zero sense where it is as Toy Story does not belong on a pier.

It's just inept. Really, simply inept. I don't know if it is the fault of WDI, or that they are desperately trying to make Disney-like attractions that have been handed down to be built by edict from a ignorant marketing department, or what. That's not for me to know.

I just know what the final product is, as produced by the Walt Disney Company, and that's all I can judge it by.

Did you just make that up? I've never in any of my years of visiting DCA, have ever seen a hint of that back story. And Soarin is my favorite ride.

The best attractions seem to be the ones without the cumbersome back stories - Space Mountain, Screamin', Matterhorn, etc.

Of course, attractions based on movies rely on the movie as a back-story, but that doesn't really count. They don't need to force-feed you information to get you to understand the attraction.
