The US Open is always a tough ticket to get in where the US Women's Open is a 7 day pass (plus Monday playoff) for 125.00. I like it too where the USGA sets up tee times for Mon, Tue and Wed. The LPGA, I find is growing in the ratings and in ticket sales. With the Missus all pregnant and whatnot, I just couldn't get over there. But next year, if the azaleas are blooming, and the wind blows just right, I will be in Augusta. Now I will tell you this. Right next door to the Auguta National is the Agusta Country Club, and at one point you can see each course from the other. I have never been able to get on the National, but I have played the Augusta CC twice. It is very close to the same quality and old school history as the National. *sigh* Maybe someday. Our community is under construction at this time, and it will be a few years before we are at 100% of our potential. But if you are interested check out http://www.governorstowneclub. com Our developer also developed Country Club of the South with The Golden Bear Himself, and ours is designed by Curtis Strange. It's gonna be a very nice place as we move toward completing our 65,000 sq foot club and championship course.

Of course my first thought was Duluth Minnesota, and I could not see how anyone could play golf in Duluth at this time of year. Or why anyone would possibly want to.

There was another woman golfer who played 8.5 months pregnant! She could still hit the ball, too. I was an official scorekeeper at the 1998 PGA Cup matches. I got a free shirt and a pen, but I got to give free rides in carts to the players' wives when they were tired of walking. Those European pro's wives were hot! I didn't look to see if their hair was shaved from their arms, though...yuck!

The current temperature in Duluth is 32 degrees, with a 23 degree wind chill. Not real good golf weather. We live about 18 miles away from the Mall. I suppose it is a case of people never appreciating what they have close by, but we only go there once every couple of years. I would rather go to WDW and experience nothing but the Tiki Room than go to the Mall of America. The Amusement park is geared to kids 10 and under. The stores, for the most part, are chain stores that you can find anywhere. I also don't find the Mall to be a pleasant environment. The place has become a major hangout for kids, and while I wouldn't consider the Mall dangerous, the kids in groups can be rather intimidating. To try to minimize this, the Mall has implemented a policy where anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult after 4 PM on Friday and Saturday evenings. The policy has made things somewhat better, but I still wouldn't consider it a vacation destination. I'd rather vacation some place nicer. Like Detroit.

What type of house and particulars?>> The grand and 2K is only for the athletic (tennis) and swim. It is mandatory. The Golf and CC Club is optional, and its $30K initiation and $300 a month approx. There are already many members that don't acutally live IN the development, but have joined the Golf/CC. Our club house is going to have three eateries. A 19th hole type deal, a bar and grill for family, and an adults only fine dining, seperate men/women spa's, workout...blah blah blah... The club structures are about 60% complete, the swim and tennis is 100% and the range and golf course itself is 100% as far as being able to play normally. Yes we moved in last November, it took 2 years from the first sketch on paper to moving in. Every home is completely custom. Getting in early is always a risk, but I felt a sure bet. I would estimate that the number of homes has doubled in the last year alone, probably more than doubled. I have blabbered enough, I will email you the rest of the details. BACK TO TOPIC.

I think someone in my dorm at Dayton talked well of Duluth MN.

I have a old college buddy in Tahoe, and Oh My God..... it's nasty out there. Believe me I KNOW how lucky we are compared to the rest of the country. Ofcourse the pay scales are adjusted too, but still, I ain't complaining. Our cost of living is very very low in Georgia. Also it makes a difference in maint.costs when you really don't have true winter.
