BTW I recommend staying on the parking lot side of the buildings because all the air units are on the water view side of the building and some are quit loud. I thought it was funny that you pay more for these rooms and they put the air units right outside your door. We stayed at the carribean our first time on property and never went back. Although you can see epcot's fireworks from there, when we were there the lake smelled like a sewer and the smell permeated our room. It was also an unbelieveably long walk to the food court from our far end of the resort. One night we returned to our room to find the maid had left the door propped open and forgotten to close it so that our room was left open for hours since we didn't get back till 10pm. We didn't like pop century because there was no landscaping really and wherever you went it seemed like you were in a crowd. We just felt more exposed all the time. There was also the accompanying clatter as there weren't any noise breaks.

It's also the first resort at WDW where I had to demand another room and explain to a front desk manager why havinga filthy, falling apart room wasn't acceptable for Disney (while nervous guests checked in around me). I wound up with a brand new renovated room. A year later went back, stayed in the same building and it appeared as if the carpeting (that had been new in 10/00) wasn't vacuumed once since it was installed. They clearly have major management issues at that resort.

If money was free flowing we would probably stay at Poly everytime.

I'll be at POFQ Dec. 10-17 and definitely looking forward to it.

AND I was amazed how BIG - Everything POP shopping store is. I would love to stay at Poly or AK but only if I got lots of moolay Say when I win the lottery. POP prices allowed me to stay 13 nights. When only visiting once a year I need all the extra nights possible.

They said they're supposed to be expanding by 600 hotels. Thing is everytime I stay somewhere that hotel seems to leave the system. Ie, Niagara Falls NY for example, a couple in Maryland, Sheraton Bal Harbor being replaced by a much more expensive Starwood Branded property) or seems run down (Westin Southfield/Westin Bellvue), or horribly expensive (W NY). Back on topic, Poly was a great experience. It was one of my parent's 3 honeymoon hotels. So it's very dear to their hearts. Haven't been on site for awhile though. Hopefully next year I'll stay at another resort. Guessing i'm going to try POFQ.

We still have CR(as mentioned), Y&BC,BW & GF left. I didn't count S&D. Wouldn't stay~none We don't mind the values at all esp when we make last minute trips and don't plan much if any time other than sleeping in our room. We have been very lucky with our experiences. The only resort we aren't very fond of was CSR and we certainly would stay again if it was what was available when we booked it just wouldn't be our 1st choice. Nice thread thanks for starting it.

Great theme, love Boma and food court, can always be entertained by watching animals. Location is not the best (long bus rides and waits). Grand Floridian: Pretty, but not made for kids. Room seemed small, long walks to get to main building and restaurants. French Quarter: Small, easy to navigate, seems quieter than many resorts. Our choice for budget-friendly vacations. Riverside: Long walks to bus, numerous bus stops just to get out of the resort. Food court is big, noisy. For the same price, stay at FQ. Caribbean Beach: Pretty, but too big. Extremely long walks to food court and main building. Inconvenient if you want to grab a snack on the way back to the room from a park.

After that experience, I won't stay on prop again. I have said this before, but I will repeat my complaints. The sheets were crap, the towels so thin you coulds see through them. The mattress was worn out, lumpy, and urine stained. The wallpaper had moldy spots. We payed right at $350/night. I have since stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for $199/night. I will NEVER pay for an on-prop room again. For those that have current plans to stay at the Poly, I have heard that it has been refurbed. I wouldn't know I won't go back.
