I think the others would be surprised at how much it DOESN'T suck to stay at the Ritz. I feel freed from the requisite gouging one has to put up with on-prop. I don't care what others do, but I am glad I opened my eyes to what is possible. << I know exactly how you feel Dave. This last trip left a very bad taste in my mouth. When you spend over $3,000 (discounted price) you expect to have fond memories of your trip. Not feel bitterness at a place you love so much.

Financials offered them the money with crazy terms so the people took it. Nearly everything is disposable in todays society so when they became upside down in their loans they threw them away and walked away. I'm not surprised at this. I think this type of mindset is being drilled into us. Insurance makes it extremely difficult to get things covered. Big industry outsources jobs to foreign countries at the expense of dometic labor. Government continues to raise taxes and therefore cost of living. Everyone who works for a large corp watches the ceo's turnover walking away with huge packages while lower labor has their hours cut. It is creating a me first society where loyalty and responsibility are a thing of the past.

I'm having way too much pc trouble today. Can't even get to my e-mail, have to get on line through Opera because I can't connect through my cable company who bleeds me $46 a month just to get on line. It's really funny, doing this through Opera, all the print is a different style. Where's my son? I need him to fix this stupid mess.

Then there was lots of laughing in the background. Some of his Navy buddies are planning to go to WDW this summer.

I think we'll find out when the Four Seasons debuts. <<The GF is the best resort on any Disney property>> Really? Just a question, but how many Disney resorts worldwide have you been to? Forgetting about other WDW resorts for the moment ... have you stayed at the Grand Californian? What about the DLP Hotel? Or the Mira Costa or new TDL Hotel in Tokyo? Heck, how about the HKDL Hotel? I think in the late 1980s the GF was the best Disney resort in the world, but now I wouldn't even put it in the top 10. <<and has the only truly 5 star resturaunt in Orlando with Victoria and Alberts.IMO.>> V&A's is an amazing experience, no doubt. Absolutely incredible cuisine and service.

But you always got a whole lot for your money, and you always felt/knew they were trying to do anything and everything to make your experience truly magical. Now, how many times have you heard someone (usually not a Disney fan) talk about WDW and saying something to the affect of 'they did everything but have Mickey tip me over on my way out to take any loose change I had left' ... I've heard that ... and most of those folks don't go back. I honestly wonder if Disney doesn't even care, so long as they get that one quick hit of cash. They certainly don't feel the need to earn business ... or create magic ... they feel all they have to do is tell you that you're having a magical time 24/7 and that'll do the trick.
