Yikes ! I expect this from LG as some type of mind control has happened there ( and LG I am not trying to rip you -- heck I am a Cub fan and every freakin' year a part of me believe's this will be the year -- so I am not throwing stones - I have a view of the baseball world that is horribly skewed) - but c'mon people let's let a little reality sneak in. << vbdad55 I was thinking the Ritz Carlton in Orlando compared to Disney resorts. The Ritz Carlton use to be my Hotel of choice but ever since they were bought by the Marriott there service has gone down. I now stay at the Four Seasons when possible. I was married at The Ritz in Orlando and will not go back. Although I do go to Norman's as it is one of the best restaurants in Orlando. IMO you can get the same service at any Disney morderate or better as at the Ritz. Also I think the food is better at the GF club then at the Ritz club.

Disneyland resorts can not even compare to what WDW has to offer. IMO.

I find it equal to Wilderness Lodge - but with a better location and restaurants, and I'll give you my opinion of AKL after I stay there later this year. I do agree that the DLH, Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneyland Paris Hotels (with the exception of the Hotel New York) pale in comparison to the WDW hotels though. Have you stayed at the Grand Californian?

There are things I do dislike. like depending on transportation. If we are staying at an All Stars resort, then we usually drive ourselves to the park. You get free parking anyways!! I also think it depends on the resort. I did not care for the Beach Club but love the Contemporary (and im comparing two deluxe resorts here too). But yes, I do think that WDW resorts spoil you, and when youre on vacation, you deserve to be spoiled!

When you say something like "There is nothing to compare to the sheer magic of the magnificense of the world class resorts that you can only find when you book your entire vacation at a WDW resort", then it's kinda hard to take! (OK, I made up that quote, but you get the drift.

I agree with you(BlazesOfFire)If your at WDW on vacation you stay on property to enjoy the whole package... All of the resorts are themed and it's what it's all about.. know one is saying there aren't better hotels then Disney's but your there for your Disney vacation, so enjoy what they have to offer...

Or are you talking Tent?? Then I'm with her... No way...

It was located next to I-4 close by the intersection of i-4 and the BeelLine Expressway, just minutes from Sea World. The empty area where the campground sat is still there but they have built lots of Time Share condos, Hospital and Post office in that area in the past 2 decades, so the area looks a bit different now, especially because of the newly improved access road into that area...it's now much easier to drive through that area. Back then.. to access Jellystone Campground, you had to drive down to Sand Lake Rd, and turn into Turkey Lake Road and drive to Jellystone. But there was no outlet from Turkey Lake back then. Hope that refreshes your memories...
