There won't be a fifth park in at least a decade ... I'd vote for never right now.

WDW reached the point of diminishing returns before DAK opened. The whole point to WDC execs is new gate=extended stays ON property. But this is the USA and most folks are lucky if they get two weeks a year. People aren't going to add a day or two or three to a WDW visit ... they just will take a day they would have spent in Park A and Spend it in Park D ...

I can tell you that Disney has ZERO desire to build any parks domestically anymore ... they want China, India, SE Asia ...

And IF Disney were to ever open another domestic park, I'd love to see it be Disney's America somewhere in the metro DC area.

But I think Disney's America will be like Mineral King, Westcot and Port Disney ... great ideas that were never meant to be.

Trippy, you can buy them ... but please don't wear them outside your home.

We don't need another VBDAD prancing around the frozen tundra half-naked!

Just a suggestion. It would certainly make a stay on property much more fun and intresting.

Go ahead. The sight of you in speedos should justify charging $72 a day for any single park at WDW. I'd pay $80 just to have a good laugh at WDW.

    P.S. I can’t wear a tutu with the Speedos. I don’t want to infringe on vbdad’s territory!

even VBdad avoids speedos -- there was a day like when I was 18 and fit as a fiddle so to speak, playing college hockey and 6'3" and 185 --
I am the same height....but I'm afraid my playing weight would be different today...but I am working on it....

( besides the tiara and DVC jacket is all the neighbors can stand...

For instance, to go from DAK to MK, you would board a bus from DAK to the Bus Hub, then get off grab a bus to MK. That way, they could keep a steady stream of buses only between DAK and the hub. The same with a steady stream of busses between the Hub and MK (and EPCOT, and D/MGM, and DD, and waterparks, and golf, and Disney Cruise Line, and the airport, etc). Time spent in line for buses would be greatly reduced, and bus traffic on the roads could be more easily managed.

They could also reduce the acreage of bus depots at each park. For instance, the MK bus depot would only have bus stops for local MK resorts and the Bus Hub - none other. EPCOT would only have bus stops for the EPCOT resorts and the Bus Hub. AK would only have bus stops for AK Lodge, All Stars and the Bus Hub.

But as you can imagine, the Bus Hub would be a pretty busy place. But with a coordinated design and a constant flow of buses, it would make transportation much easier. No parking there tho. Buses only.

That was the concept behind the Ticket and Transportation Center. Now about all you can do there is switch from an MK monorail to an Epcot monorail. But years ago you could get a bus to ANYWHERE from the TTC.

I presume the concept was abandoned because no one likes having to take two busses to get somewhere. I know I certainly don't.

They now have a "hub" (horribly located) at Downtown Disney. Again, you can get a bus from there to anywhere. That is the only way to travel by bus from one Disney hotel to another. I hate it. You always have to figure that it will take you up to an hour to get to where you are going (20 minute wait at stop l, 10 minute ride; 20 minute wait at stop 2, 10 minute ride to final destination.)

I went through that routine twice before deciding never again. Now I take a taxi when going from one resort to another.

By the way... if I were cynical I would say that Disney moved the hub to Downtown Disney to increase traffic at the stores there. But I'm sure Disney would never do something like that so there must have been some other reason.

    ;-)

Accept the parks. Wilderness Lodge to AKL via DTD - 1.75 hours last week - aweful. Then the Grand Floridian advised us the Taxis Minibuses have baby seats. We took cabs the rest of the week.

Yes, that is what I try to do when I can. It is usually much faster choosing a park close to where you want to go and changing buses there.

Of course, as you said... If the parks are still open. We usually visit during January when both the MK and the AK close very early. Consequently, we usually end up taking a taxi.
