Sure, there's more rain in Florida. But I used to live in SoCal, and you can be socked in with rain for days if your timing is right. And again, most of the cloudbursts in WDW are just minutes long. It's something to deal with, but it just ain't that bad.

I don't deny that Florida is hotter and more humid and yeah, rainier than SoCal. But dave seemed to be painting the picture that it's ALWAYS rainy in Florida and it's ALWAYS sunny in SoCal, neither of which are true. It's like I've said at least a million times today - DOWN WITH HYPERBOLE!!!

It's just Florida summer. Relatively speaking, it looks like seasonably nice weather in both places for the next 10 days.
Originally Posted By Mr X ***Indeed, and the last trip it rained for about 4 hours every day bar 2!*** Very unfortunate, but also unusual. I lived there for a year, and visited countless times beyond that, and I can't recall more than a handful of days that were just "dreary rainy" like that. Tons of thunderstorms and squalls, sure, but they never seemed to last long. Last time I was there, we were setting up for a bar-b-que and the thunderclouds rolled in. Forgetting myself, I remarked "geez, maybe we'd better cook inside". My Uncle laughed, and said "let's just wait a few minutes". Sure enough, cats and dogs for 15 minutes or so, and burgers and dogs soon after. (all this while my family up North was buried under over a foot of wet snow, so I don't have so many complaints about Florida weather lol)

I remember the day we first visited IOA - it started raining as we got to the gate. We reconsidered, but a local said it wouldn't last. Well it rained almost all day and the coasters were down most of the day, and very painful in the rain when they ran. End result, we liked SPidey and the shows, but felt little need to return again - IOA was my biggest disappointment after the MK. Clearly people have very different tollerance levels than I or my luck has really varied. But it is not hyperbole. I do not like the climate and critters of the south east USA.
