Nobody said that the guys at the SEC should have been surfing porn, or that they shouldn't be "watched." All I said was that the fact that some SEC guys surfed for porn does not compute to "therefore, we don't need the financial regulations we had for 70 years that did a really good job of staving off exactly what we've seen in recent history." I know you work in life insurance. By your logic, if some guys at a life insurance company were caught surfing porn (and you KNOW there have to be some), therefore the life insurance industry is not to be trusted or what they do isn't valuable. It just doesn't follow.

If they did, they wouldn't be constantly worshipping at the Altar of the Almighty Filibuster if they did. Democrats are NOT the best solution. But Republicans are FAR WORSE. American politics: the lesser of two evils.

But neither the Democrat incumbents nor the Republican incumbents want to change our election process. So... we're stuck. And between the Republicans and Democrats, I'll keep voting for the Democrats. Democrats care more about the middle class than the Republicans. I'm part of the American middle class, and believe in having a strong American middle class. Therefore, I will continue to vote for the Dems over the Republicans. Anyone in the American middle class who continues to vote against their own self-interest by voting for the party that continues to tear down the American middle class is a moron. M-O-R-O-N. It all started with Reagan. The Republican dismantling of the American middle class is nearly complete. Go ahead and vote Republican again in November and in 2012 to drive in the final coffin nail.

Corporations need to be regulated. History has shown that they can't be trusted and the that they won't "self police" nor will the "invisible hand" of the market keep them in check. If we let them run unchecked we'll end up back where we where 150 years ago: a plantation economy ruled by robber barons. And we are well on our way there as in the past 10 years the super rich have doubled their share of the national wealth, a trend that will continue until they have all the money.
