    Very much so. ;)

You know I couldn't name any male stars but I could knock out at least ten female names....and no I'm not proud of that.

Thank goodness! For a lot of us (yeah, myself included - shocked? NAH... you guys have seen my risque behavior/admissions here before ;-) that stuff was our 'education.' *LOL*

I remember my "talk" at 13 at the onset of my monthly (LP-speak ;-) ...

Mom and Dad (one or the other - they were both present): "Okay, you know about sex, right?"

    Me: "Yes"

Mom and Dad: "And you know that you can get pregnant now?"

    Me: "Yes"

Mom and Dad: "Okay, just remember that no matter what you can always come to us."

    Me: "Okay"

And my parents have always been very sexual beings and would have talked to me about anything if I'd asked. But this was the classic, early '70s "talk" for me and nearly all of my friends.

I learned a LOT from books and magazines (and I'm not talkin' the mild stuff.) Am I a complete degenerate and useless to society? Nah... I just like to have fun. ;-)

Wow!! You had the same talk that I had. Except the get pregnant part was replaced with make a girl pregnant.

Darn good thing I was born with that perfect knowledge I talked about a couple of posts ago.

    :)

P.S. What can I say... That is also the talk I had with my son.

Wouldn't you rather sexual offenders do horrible things to images of sex then have their perversion directed at an actual human being's presence? I think it's odd that in some places the age of consent is lower then the age that one can possess pornography. I'm not sure what should be done about that, but I do know that it doesn't make any sense.

I don't know, I never had any hang ups about sex, but I was raised in the hood, the music videos I grew up with alone are probably banned in most Middle Eastern countries ;).

Do I understand the issues around it, sure? But do I feel most people who view porn lead to some sexual addiction or a break down in moral perception like you CONSTANTLY hear? Honestly if it does, I never seen it, that's all I can say. ALL my friends (okay, mainly guys lol and a few girls) have watched or watches pornography. Most of the guys are married or have girlfriends and they have normal, respectful relationships. When I USE to have girlfriends lol, same thing. Sure, some didn't like it, I respected that....and just watched it when they weren't around like most men lol, but as someone once said, for men, sex is visual, for women, its more emotional, so we can see the inherit problems. But as far as **I** know, my relationship was about as normal as anyone else's. I don't look at women as just some sex object anymore than I look at sex as some thing you carelessly should do with anyone either. But, I know my views are waaay different on this. I'm an athiest, don't view marriage as all that important (not saying Marriage isn't important, just don't believe its for everyone and with the divorce rate being what it is, that is certainly true) and have zero hang ups about sex. I'm NOT a sex freak or anything lol, but I don't feel embarrased talking about it or sharing (not quite like that)....unless its to my mother ;D. But I think that's what great about pornography, it makes you more open to talk about these things, not be a prude about it. As great as sex is, if people are too afraid to talk about their feelings on it or at least feel if they do something would be deemed 'dirty', sex can be the dullest thing on the planet. Pornography helps open that up for many. Some people look at sex as some outdated form of intimacy where no one talks to each other, limit the experience and feel like a prude if they do something the other look as too 'dirty'....then people wonder why those same people are out cheating with others?

That's why I get sooo sick of these so-called religious freak, hypocrital politicians. They want to restrict your right to have sex, to be as 'moral' as them where they surpess it so much, they end up feeling they can only express themselves sexually through the privacy of a public bathroom stall. That's MUCH worse than a guy who openly watches pornography a few times a week, but can still openly be himself and normal because of it.

Sex is very much a part of society, ALL societies and no matter how much conservatives want to take it away, its not going anywhere. As long as we have people who like sex for more than just procreating, its going to be here quite awhile ;). I DO agree though, I hate that its objectified so much and so much pornography IS dirty and disgusting the way so much of is done. There is a lot of sick stuff out there, no doubt, so sick we can't even talk about it here lol. But I think the majority of people out there just likes having a normal and open sex life and pornography is another outlet for that.

I see nothing wrong that just like I see nothing wrong with drinking alcohol from time to time as long as it doesn't turn you into some alcoholic who needs a drink at 3 pm on a Tuesday ;). Same idea, just more nudity involved.

As I've said, I'm fine with porn. I just don't want my kids to be able to access it or stumble on it so easily. If they are googling "corn" and mistype "porn" then suddenly they are bombarded with some pretty disturbing images.

Yes, parents are ultimately responsible but just give us a little hand.

LOL, I BEEN to Pompeii and yeah, even waaay back in the 700's, pronography and prostitution was alive and well. Those pictures that people see hung up not only in brothels, but in people's homes and etc. The funny thing is, when you go to Pompeii, all the brothels of that city was basically in the center area and not hidden, away from the public eye that you expect those types of places to be. Going to a brothel back then was apparently like going to your local supermarket....or whatever the equivilent of a supermarket was back then. It just wasn't a big deal.

It's funny, you can even go inside the rooms of the brothels today, some are still intact. I took my picture sitting on one of the beds, but being over a thousand years old now, the bed is litterally hard a rock now (no pun intended...okay, maybe a little ;D).

OF COURSE, in agreement there! I would definitely think porn should be restricted by parents just like cigarettes, alcohol and any adult thing. Of course when it comes to things like cigarettes and alcohol, parents have NO problems telling their kids not to do it, but still have no problems doing it in front of them anyway. That always seem kind of weird to me.

I don't have kids, but I imagine I would be pretty strict about them seeing something like that obviously (but didn't stop me and my brother from finding my grandfather's stash when we were around 10 though lol. To my grandfather's credit, he hid it PREEEETY well too....but I have a feeling it had to do with keeping my grandmother from finding it than from us ;D).

I do hope you're kidding. If porn is THAT important to you it plays way too big a part in your life.

    :)

Now giving up pizza or WDW... THAT would be a tough decision!!

Seriously, I've always thought it's reasonable to demand all adult websites be required to use a new .xxx or .adu address and require a credit card - even if it's not charged. It won't solve all the issues but it would help.

I think most reasonable people agree pornography needs to be regulated. But throwing someone in jail for selling a hardcore tape or DVD to a fellow adult in an adult video store? That's just some prudes forcing their beliefs on others. It's a joke.
