Currently reading Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. Certainly strikes a chord in my memories of the 70's and 80's era. It's decent reading. I, too, find that I make myself finish a book. Sometimes I'm very glad I did.

If you like Prisoner of Azkaban, then keep going. If not, I honestly wouldn't finish the series, because it's just not for you. And part of it may be you've seen the movies. I personally can't imagine watching the movies then reading the books - all the great mystery is gone and you're just left with the fantasy-wizardry stuff. Fun, sure, but the best part of the books was that she structured them like a mystery and did it very well (Order of the Phoenix excepted).

Usually I try to read the books before I watch a movie, but honestly I was never interested in Harry Potter. My girlfriend convinced me to watch the movies with her and unfortunately the movies are not very good, at least in my opinion. That's why I started to read the books.
